Y/n's POV

"What the hell's going on?" Connor asked me, when Schmidt, and the other trainer who I didn't know looked distracted, deep in their own conversation

"You think I know?" I whispered back, cautiously eyeing Schmidt. This was mad weird, even for them. Weeks and weeks of no contact with each other, and  we're suddenly training together again?

He opened his mouth to say something back, probably sarcastic by the look on his face, but I shushed him, because I had heard something strange come out of out trainers' mouths

"Wintersoldat" I distinctly heard, and the look on Connor's face showed that he had too

Not long after that, Schmidt uttered words that sounded suspiciously like "Gehirnwäsche" and "Speicher löschen"

Brainwash and Memory Wipe.

Huh. Wonder what that meant...

"012" the trainer I didn't know suddenly said, making us turn away in quickly to make it look like we weren't eavesdropping, "Schritt vorwärts"

I reassuringly squeezed Connor's hand, before he dutifully stepped forward. I was odd though, I was usually the one who went first.

But I guess today was a day for weird ass stuff

In hindsight though, this time was eerily similar to the first.

The doors at the back of the room slid open once more and I watched Connor stiffen with anticipation

"No way..." I gasped quietly under my breath, as we finally found out who we were against this time. Cause once again, I was staring into the ice blue eyes of Winter, back after all this time

I locked eyes with Connor, who was giving me a 'what the shit is going on look'

I shrugged my shoulders, trying to be intimate about the gesture but Schmidt's tightened grasp on my arm showed that he had definitely seen it

Or he was doing something completely unrelated, and I was just being paranoid

Nope, there was no way, he had definitely seen it and I was definitely right

Even though it wasn't a very good thing to be right about

Meanwhile, while those useless thoughts were floating around in my head, things were going quite strangely up in front

This time, instead  of charging up, he moved slowly, a steely glint in his eyes

Connor braced himself his hands poised and sparks glinting at his fingertips

Then suddenly, without the slightest warning, Schmidt murmured, "zerstören" and it all went to hell

"What the-" I muttered in shock

I knew Winter had to fake it in front of Schmidt and the others, but it didn't look all that fake from here. And neither did the fear in Connor's eyes.

The blinding streaks electricity emitting from Connor's fingertips did nothing more than small setbacks to faze Winter's ongoing attack

He gave out a pained groan as he hit the ground from a well aimed punch from Winter

Winter went in for a devastating blow with his painfully strong metal arm, but thankfully Connor rolled out of the way, seconds from impact

But this time, when Winter drew his arm back to prepare for another hit, Connor wasn't all that lucky this time
