Liana's at her apartment on her couch reading a book when her phone rings. Liana answers her phone and it's John Corben. John says, "Hey, beautiful." Liana says, "Are you still at the office?" John says, "No, no. Sitting behind a desk just isn't the same without those pretty brown eyes of yours... Since you didn't wanna grab dinner tonight I spent the time searching out news. And you'll never guess what I found." Liana says, "What did you find?" John says, "Your favorite freak's been at it again and this time, the story's mine." Liana says, "Okay. There are plenty of headlines to go around." John says, "Oh, my goodness. Never thought you'd be willing to share The Blur... Liana. We should celebrate... over coffee. Your place or mine?" Liana says, "Or neither. You know, The Blur catches more bad guys before breakfast than most cops do in a day." John says, "Hell, that's the problem. He's not a cop. He's a vigilante... with superpowers and thing for the letter S." Liana says, "Well, then, he's done a super job cleaning up Metropolis. Thanks to him, the city can sleep at night." John says, "What if he screws up? How do you hold him accountable? No one has even seen his face." Liana says, "John, after everything The Blur's done for the world how can you be such a cynic?" John says, "Well, apparently, I don't suffer from the same soft-hearted hero worship you do." Liana says, "At least I have a heart. You gotta lighten up, John. Spend a little less time on the dark side of the street." John says, "There's another side to The Blur and I'm gonna expose it." John hangs up and Liana sighs worried about what John's gonna find out about Clark.
