“Please, you gotta let me in there!” I yell, trying to push past the barricade. The woman guard was strong, pushing me back with ease. I could hear the sirens coming this way, from ambulances, fire trucks, and police cars alike.
“Sir, the fire fighters will be here in just a moment,” she told me, her voice annoyingly calm.
“My sister’s in there!” I yell back. “She may not have another moment!”
“Sir, I understand, but you have to stay back. The building’s on fire.” I wanted so badly to say it wasn’t, that it was just a ploy that my extremely clever and so helpless sister did so she could escape the vamps after her.
But then I saw the smoke and my mind blanked as tried with more force to get past the officer.
