Before i left i had to double check on my 3 younger
siblings. I entered my 8 year old sister scarlets room,
she was all cuddled up in her hello kitty themed bed.
pink walls and barbie posters as her surroundings. I
walked across the scattered dolls covering her floor
and switched her lamp off. Then went into my young
twin brothers tony and tobias' room both of them fast
asleep dorito packets on there bed and left over
crumbs on there faces.

Being a teenager with a drunken mother and younger
siblings to take care off is very hard, you obviously
need your space. Tonight im gonna try and succeed
to sneak out to the skate park. And i don't care if its a
school night i really do deserve this.

I put my sneakers on and gently grabbed my board.
As i went closer to the bottom of the stairs the sound
of loud snoring was heard. Well someones back from
the bar early. Her messy hair scattered all over her
face and the wine glass in her hand slowly about to
tip out of her hands. I quickly grabbed the glass out
her hands and placed it on the mini table beside her.
After that i just stared at her. How can my own
mother betray and lie to us like that. She promised
she'll stop drinking begging for our forgiveness but
here she is. I quickly got out of my thoughts and
unlocked the door but i wasn't so slick. 'And where
are you going?' My mother said as she had her eyes
half open.
'Umm i'm just going to get a quick
breather mom i need a break right now , been taking
care of them little monsters all day'
I said awkwardly chuckling trying to make this
situation into a joke 'ill let you off this time but i
don't want you going off doing drugs like your dad' i
gave her a quick nod and walked out of the door
dropping my skate board and pushing my feet
against the cold floor. I mean why would she even say
that. She needs to take a quick look in the mirror- oh
wait she can't bc she's always 'too drunk' or
'hungover

As i saw my location from across the road the wind of
relief blew across my body until the street lights
started glowing on a specific figure. Someone sitting
down on the ramp lighting up a cigarette. I thought i
was just tired and seeing things i then dropped my
skateboard and started riding it as it made a loud
noise startling the unusual thing. Maybe its some
skater as they had a skateboard next to them. I mean
most kids come here when they need time for
themselves. I went through the gap in between the 2
gates and started doing tricks. After few minutes not
realising the figure was watching me the whole time.
I sat across on the ramp across them and got my
blunt and lighter. I know i didn't take my moms word
but i need this right now. I inhaled the smoke and
exhaled as i felt a burning sensation in my throat.
'Damn' i heard a bit of a raspy deep voice 'i didn't
expect..all..that' i recognise that voice. Thats fucking
buzzcut. My best friends ava and mia are obsessed
with his friend group. 'Buzzcut?' I said choking on the
smoke 'ruben actually' he said rolling his puffy eyes.

As a few minutes went by i started to question myself
what tf was ruben doing here by himself. I mean i
thought all he did was follow ray and fuckshit around
like a damn puppy but he really goes out and does his
own shit. Hes asking me all these questions like 'how
long have you been skating' and when did you start
smoking' or ' why are you here' i had to make up a lie
