Once they've decided to seek more help, Chip and Dale then head on over to the police station to see if their cop friend knew anything else about how the victims were taken in the first place.

After they parked the car and went inside, the two walked over to the front desk and firmly state their visits to the officer in charge.

"Hi there, we are private detectives Dale and Chip. Could you get Captain Ellie Steckler for us, please? Tell her this is very important." Dale informed in a much positive tone.

"Sure thing. I'll let her know that you're here." The front desk officer said politely with a wild grin on her face before heading over to a bundle group of people who were talking to Steckler and whispered to her ear about their arrival in an excited squeal.

Probably due to the fact that their famous names must have spread word fast to the police departments.

Not long afterwards, their friend walked over and motioned them to follow her.

"Hi guys, come on over to my office." Steckler said as she escorts them to her work room and closed the door behind them.

Since they were small and the seats were too big, the two just stood on top of the desk in the room while Steckler sat in her own chair and leaned her head in close to talk with them at a leveled height.

"So, what can I do for you?" Steckler asked with a friendly smile.

"We were hoping that you might have some new information about the disappearances with the political figures that have been happening recently. Is there any way you can tell us about what you found so far?" Chip asked with tense and concern in his voice.

While Steckler started to debate in her mind about whether or not she should waiver around extra confidential police evidence to them.

Because as much of a 'by the books' person she was, she couldn't help but to think that this same situation can happen to her if she was the one that needed their help in a case.

After all, show wise or not, they were the best in their investigative business.

And had shown to be just as qualified of a police detective as anywhere else in the county.

Plus to her, they were her childhood heroes.

So, it would mean a lot to help them out when she is able to.

"Well....usually I'm not supposed to simply hand out new information to just any detective that's not within our precinct. Commissioner's rules. But....I can leave the folder here and walk away for a moment to grab a cup of coffee from the lounge area." Steckler suggested while placing a Manila folder that is filled with papers in front of them.

"You're the best." Chip said with a small grin on his face.

Even though it took him some time to trust her from their first case together, he had always known how much of a good friend she was and really appreciated all the effort that she has done for them.

"Anytime. I'll be back in 5 minutes." Steckler said with a wink before walking out and closing the door behind her.

Chip and Dale then immediately scrambled throughout the folder and scanned over the files quickly just in case she comes back in early.

The reports have included the victims' occupations, family and where they were taken at the scene of the crime.

Along with interviews of known suspects in the area and a personal one on one talk with the mayor of the city, who have constantly reassured the citizens over the media channels that everything is normal and will be fine once the local investigation is solved.

Which went beyond Chip and Dale's own stock of evidence in the offices at their workplace.

They looked through some of the evidence while taking pictures on their phone and have managed to find one good key aspect that can be used to track down the culprits for the mess.

Apparently each of the victims have vanished through a crowd of people at an event or party.

A clue that was unexpected, yet reasonable enough to consider looking into.

"Dale! I think I know who the next target might be." Chip concluded with a sudden discovery.

"Who?" Dale asked, curiously.

"The District Attorney for the state." Chip answered.

"How did you I know?" Dale asked, who was at first a little confused by his theory.

"The D.A is still reachable in town and there so happens to be events all year long for the courthouse representatives. But I'll have to make a couple of calls to see what day would be the closest time to keep a sharp eye on whoever is behind this." Chip explained.

"That's great. Do you think we can go in like undercover spies and try to catch the kidnappers there?" Dale asked, excitedly.

"Not exactly. Neither of us can just go in on a random party, uninvited. We'll have to do a stakeout of some sort and wait for the perfect opportunity." Chip suggested.

"Awesome! It'll be just like the movies! We can both get some fast food and...." Dale was going to say until the two heard the door tap loudly.

Which indicated to them as a warning to wrap things up in there.

Knock knock

The door sounded while Chip and Dale quickly put back the files and shut them neatly in the folder.

"We'll talk about this later." Chip said right as Steckler renters the room again.

"So did you guys find anything useful?" Steckler asked, curiously.

"Yep. And we're fixing to head out right now." Dale said with excited grin on his face while the two make their way out of the office room.

"Oh, I see. Do you guys want me to come with you?" Steckler offered.

"That's okay. We got this. Thanks again for all your help though." Chip said politely.

"Alright, be careful then. But remember if you need any back up, please let me know and I'll do everything I can to help." Steckler said as the two waved goodbye to her and exited the Station.

"So what now?" Chip asked while the two got into Dale's car.

"Well since we just uncovered a possible lead to the culprits, we might as well celebrate." Dale suggested with a brightened smile.

"What do you have in mind?" Chip asked.

"Well...I haven't been over at your house in a while so why don't we hang out there tonight and have a couple of drinks." Dale suggested.

"Okay but I'm warning you, my couch is way too comfortable to get used to and my dog can be a little energetic for guests." Chip said, with a light laugh in his tone from Dale's high enthusiasm.

"I'm sure your dog will be fine but that couch will be the first thing that I get to lay on." Dale said with a wink and his tongue sticking in fun.

Chip rolled his eyes and shook his head with a small grin on his face as the two then drove on over to the house and settled in for the long day's work.
