I need
Somebody to help me forget
For just a little while; from my thoughts distract
Get my mind off what I can't have
Keep me from moping that there's nothing left
I need
A friend to care
A shoulder to cry on and always be there
Even when I have no more tears to cry
Someone who will forever stay by my side
I need
To love myself
And stop tucking my feelings at the back of the shelf
Some confidence to hold my head high
Whenever peace and happiness is denied
I need
To guard my heart
And stop myself from falling so hard
To wait with patience for the right time
And someone whose effort matches mine
I need
To remember my mission
Keep my eyes on my dreams and visions
Reach out to the hurt and suffering
Show them love of which they're deserving
I need
To be who I am
Without restriction
Not care for a rhyme scheme
And just be me
