i let your tears fall
then i wiped them away
and then she called
and you said, "another day,"
and i guess that day, it never came
'cause i'm still waiting here today
i texted to say i love you
but you were too busy for that
your family was calling for you
so i let you leave at that
i checked in on your brother too
he said he loves me back
i didn't see you in the room
and it was poking at my mind
so i wasted data asking after you
said you were doing fine
took preoccupation as the truth
then was told it was a lie
i worry about if we'll be okay
but should i really care?
july was right under may
a one-word reply was rare
you don't stick to what you say
and i made my heart completely bare
