I write stories with people in my life as characters.
It's my only way of holding on to them;
Because one stays forever.
No one ever has.I write their characters in to love me,
It's inevitable, as I've realised —
I know that they will eventually leave.
Eternity is a scam, and forever is a lie.I don't write them to be the sidekicks,
I make them the wondrous main leads.
Maybe that way, next time my brain will be tricked
Into thinking they're great as they currently seem.Even when they leave, I cling on to memories
Of late night talks and comfort, excitement, and joy
The confidence they once gave me
To cut off undeserving boys.I set the pen to paper
And let my tears write the words
Then turn the page over
And see the imprints of the previous chapter.
