Chapter Seven: Protection

----

Cale didn't know what the fuck is happening, but he can feel something in him that wanted to come out. It is a different feeling from when he woke up as a great and mighty existence, therefore it is not his mana. Hell, he can't even feel any mana inside this... whatever this is.

This adult dragon in front of him just kept floating up there as if he's waiting for an attack, as if they know Cale will be the one to end it because goddamn it he's the only one left. There's a pile of corpes on the side and there lies the remains of his old family.

But behind him, there is a quivering Kim Rok Soo. His eyes were closed, his paws were on his chest and he was laying on the cold, hard and an extremely uncomfortable ground. He doesn't like what he saw at all, his brother only deserved the best treatment and his brother only wanted the highest quality of everything he could get but he's here, lying on some ground and what made matters worse is that he's dying.

Cale's sanity wavered. Cale felt agitated. He cannot activate his mana and he's slowly losing his mind as he's sensitive to Kim Rok Soo's heartbeat- he only found out about it now that he can feel it and it's slowing down. He looked up as to appear that he's on standby mode, while he's currently thinking on what to do to protect his baby brother. His brother is still a day old! He needed to live!

He needed to protect his brother. But how can he do that, when he cannot make a single shield? He has no sword and he doubt a sword is enough to kill a dragon. An adult dragon, no less. He focused his attention on himself without breaking eye contact to his target as he tried to will that nagging feeling in him. But it wouldn't budge.

It's frustrating. He kept trying but there's no use.

Just then, He heard Kim Rok Soo's breathing started to slow down and his heartbeat is starting to fade.

Cale's sanity snapped.

Eruhaben looked at the hatchling in worry.

He had been in the twin's chamber for a week now and he's worried because ever since the older sibling's first growth phase started, the hatchling started to become restless. Restless in a way that even in his sleep, he's having nightmares. The peace from the market was short lived as Kim Rok Soo started acting strange the night after that.

Now, on the eighth day he's currently having a fever which Eruhaben also thought as him going through his first growth phase then realized that he's only eighth days old. He can't go through his first growth phase that quickly. Their first growth phase is extremely will base and this little hatchling is, well, lazy.

Kim Rok Soo was slightly shaking, his paws were on where his heart is located and his expression were frowning. This eight day old dragon, the twin of the four year old dragon, looked a lot like his older twin for four years in a way that looked as if both of them were going through their growth phases.

No. It definitely looked like the other is affected with whatever was happening with the other.

If this is something that goes on, He could not imagine what would've happened to the presumably lazy Rok Soo because his older brother seemed like he got both their wills for himself. He continued to overdo his powers that the only time he could rest was when his mana is completely depleted.

Eruhaben tolerated it until eight days ago, because the four year old looked as if he wouldn't learn no matter how many times he passed out. That was why he thought he had to force him out of that habit. Even he was not that overzealous when he was four.
