Chapter 28: Message of Death

Cadmus POV

          Paulit-ulit kong minura ang aking sarili dahil sa nangyari kagabi. Damn! Muntik na! Muntikan na talaga! Kung hindi lamang nawalan ng malay si Aithela ay baka hindi ko na tuluyang napigilan ang aking sarili. I wanted her so bad last night that when I saw her talking with that prince. It all snap!
     Kumunot ang aking noo ng hindi ko siya maramdaman sa aking tabi pagkagising. Bakit ba ang hilig niya akong layasan! I get up and fix myself. Lumabas ako para hanapin na naman ang babaeng iyon.

    Nakasalubong ko si Anneliese at Tristian na kakagaling lamang sa labas ng palasyo. Anneliese frowned when he notice something and stop me.
     "Do you still drinking the potion?", she asked. I tsk.
     "Of course. It's just that it's no use anymore right now," pag-amin ko dito. Tristian smirk at me.
     "I think you have to do it now. Kumakawala na ng kusa ang nararamdaman mo. You need to be mated soon," he said.

   Alam ko ang ipinupunto niya. Walang imik na iniwan ko silang dalawa. Damn this mating season! As a half-vampire, this is the first time I experience this. Gusto ko man pero hindi ko hahayaang gawin ang bagay na hindi gusto ng aking kabiyak.
    I walk through the hallway and was about to pass the chamber where my father is in when I feel Aithela's presence inside. Nag-init ang ulo ko ng makita ang nakaraan na pumasok siya sa loob.

    Bakit ba gustong-gusto niyang makipag-usap sa mga nadito? Should I regret allowing them here? Tsk.
   Sumandal ako sa gilid at inintay siyang lumabas. I don't bother to enter. I still hate that man. Sariwa pa rin sa aking alaala ang nangyari noon. How could I forget what he did when I have the power to saw the past? Para bang kinukulong ako nito sa nakaraang panahon.

    Minutes pass and she finally walk outside. Mabilis kong kinabig ang kanyang kamay paalis. I drag her towards the garden. Where we used to meet when we're kids. I sense her nervousity and pain in my grip. Niluwagan ko iyon. Pagkadating namin sa hardin ay iniupo ko siya sa isang upuan doon.
    She looked at me confused and then blush and look away. Ako naman ang nalito sa kanyang ginawa.

    "Why did you talk to that man?", I coldly asked even though I already know why. Gusto kong marinig sa kanya ang kanyang dahilan. I darkened my gaze towards her. She gulp.
    "U-uh...I-I just...I just ask him," nauutal nitong saad.
    "About what?", she fidget her fingers
    "A-about you," I frowned. 

    "I already told you that if you want to know something. Ask me and I will answer you. Why would you ask that man? He knows nothing about me!", I outburst in annoyance. Napatigil ako ng napayuko ito. I sigh.
    "I-I'm sorry," usal ko at umupo sa kanyang tabi. Lumayo naman ito sa akin. Damn it self!

    "I-It's fine. I'm the one who should say sorry to you. I just want to help you reconsile with your father. I just notice that even though you hate him so bad. You still help them and save them, not personally but with this little thing you did. So I think, maybe you only need to talk with him. Father to son conversation, e-even though you're mad," she explained. I stop because of her words.
   Hindi ako nagsalita at nakinig na lamang. I'm still mad at that man. But her words and sincerety contradict with my emotions. Damn it!

    "I'm sorry if I had to intrude in your relationship with your father but if you didn't let go of the past. Kakainin at kakainin ka nito, lalo na ng inis at galit mo. I know that deep inside of you still hoping that your father will accept you. You both had problems and pride always stop both of you. Walang masama kung mag-uusap kayo," she added and look up at me. She smiled and continue,

    "Nakita ko kanina na gusto ka niyang makausap pero puno siya ng pag-aalinlangan at takot na baka itaboy mo siya. Cadmus, look around you. Ang mga bagay na nasa palagid natin ay hindi laging nakatuon sa atin. This world is in chaos right now. Kaliwa't kanan na tayong hinaharap ng kamatayan. Kung hindi natin aayusin ang personal na problema natin. How could we defeat our enemy?",
    "If we didn't let go of the past that keeps hunting us. The enemy will use it as our weakness and they might win. How could we make a future for all of us? Nandito na ako Cadmus. I'm already here with you and will stay by your side until the end of time. But the past is still inside you,"
