A Palisman Given

I woke up to being poked.

"Huh?Whaaa?Shis cabobs?"I stutter.

Hunter's POV.

Y/n made some weird waking up noises,specifically shis cabobs.

What are those?

"Hunter?What are you doing here?"She asked,surprised.

I give y/n a small pat on the head.

She purrs and smile,closing her eyes.

"Well,I-I actually came to vent?I think that's what Steve calls it?"I hesitate.

"What's wrong?"y/n becomes very serious.

"Well...I want to help Belos with his curse.Yes he has one.But he won't let me help."I frown.

"hmm.To me it sounds like he has some issues." y/n points out

I glare at her.she's deep in thought.

I look at the lost in thought girl.

She's really pretty.

WHY AM I THINKING THIS AGAIN?!

Her ears suddenly flatten and twitch.

She looks outside and pops up,rushing to the window.

I walk over to her and see her pupils get really thin.

"What are you looking at?"I ask.

She suddenly jumps out the window and chases something.

"HAH!?Y/N!WAIT!"I yell chasing after her.

Wow she is fast,holy shit.

I finally catch up to her and see her jumping to grab a blue bird.

It looks kind of like the red cardinal that is trying to be my palisman.

"Get over here you little cutie!I'm trying to help you!"y/n scowls.

The blue jay chirped.

Seeing y/n struggle was hilarious.

I laugh.

She looks at me wondering why I was laughing at her.

It makes me crack up even more.

The Blue Jay hops on her shoulder watching me laugh histarically.

I fall over,practically crying.

Y/n's POV

Hunter is laughing?

Like.

Full on cackling.

I feel the little bird that I noticed was injured rest on my shoulder to watch the Hysterical one.

Hunter calms down and gets up,profusely apologizing.

"You-you were so-so utterly adorable failing to get zee bird.I'm sorry.My humor has been broken!"Hunter started laughing again.

I stare at him in shock and walk away.

I'm just going to tend to the bird.

"W-wait up y/n!"Hunter cackles,catching up too me.

I just shake my head in disbelief.

I got back to the Owl House and Eda greeted me.

"Hey y/n.whats with the bird?

"I heard the thing outside,getting attacked and grabbed the dude.It's a palisman,so I'm going to tend to the poor things wounds and bring them to the Bat Queen."I explain to Eda.

"Got it,here you go.And I want you to be quickit's dangerous in that aprt of the forest and I'm not gonna be here."Eda remarks.

"I will,don't worry.Byeeeeeeeeeeeee!"I yell running towards the forest.

Hunter goes after me.

I make it to the forest the Bat Queen resides in.

"Ugh.I don't think I'm welcome here."Hunter points out.

"So-so."I say.

I helped the Jay and was at the entrance to Bat Queens cave.

I entered the cave.

"Bat Queen?I found an injured palisman and brought them here!?"I yelled to the queen,not seeing her at first.

"Hello child.May I see the palisman?"The Bat Queen flew in front of me.

I nod my head.

The queen said something to the palisman that I couldn't hear.

"This palisman wishes to be yours,as your friend here has their partner."The queen smiled.

I stare at her in shock when the palisman became a staff.

"You?You want to be mine?"I stare at the blue jay in shock.

The bat queen shoo's us out of the cave and forest.

I'm still staring in shock.

Hunter looks shocked as well.

"A cardinal became my palisman too."He stated after a moment.

"Oooooooooooo!YAY!WE MATCHING!"I yell happily.

We start walking back to the Owl House.

I freeze.

No.

I have to learn to fly.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

My fear of heights will kill me.

"My fear of heights."I mumble.

"Oh my.That will be a problem."he stressed for a sec.

"That is a problem for a different day."I state firmly.

"Speaking of different day,I need to leave.We can probably meet up again in a few days."Hunter apologizes,reaching to pat my head for a sec.

"Your fine.I've been really tired and stressed about the fact I can't get home so,I do need time to myself and Luz."I explain with a small smile.  

My palisman unstaffed and the little bird sat on Hunters shoulder.

"Get off!"He tensed.

p/n...p/n the palisman said.

"Your name I presume p/n?"I asked the thing.

It nodded yes.

Hunter dropped me off at the house and waved goodbye before flying off.

I went inside and yelled that I had a palisman.

No one except Hooty was home.

He congragulated me.

I told him to tell everyone else when they get back home.

I flop on my bed and hold p/n lovingly.

(p/n means palisman name.)

I fall asleep.

And I dream the nightmare again.

UGH!

STOP SHOWING ME THIS!!!!!!!

And then I get chased again.

I feel like screaming and crying in anger and fear and grief.

I wanted this stupid thing over.

And then I slept peacefully after the nightmare.
