"Remember Emily?" Jack asked me.

"Who?" I asked, in confusion.

He cleared his throat then, tried mimicking my voice in a high pitch.

"Who's that bitch that is trying to take my spot?" He smiles probably feeling achieved.

"Failed woefully." I deadpanned.

"No I did not. I tried my best. You can't just say I failed." He protested.

"Okay, I won't. I'd rather grade you." I tried to come to an agreement with him.

"I'm waiting."

"From a rank of zero to ten, I'd give you... Drumroll please... 0.1" I said with so much enthusiasm.

"What? That's still a fail." He said, pouting.

"You said I can't say you failed. And I didn't actually use the word fail." I said, now smiling. "This is-" He cut me off.

"-preposterous." He said completing my sentence.

"Anyway, I don't remember any Esther girl." I said, escaping his tantrum by going back to the original topic.

"It's Emily."he said, correcting me.

"Does it really matter?" I asked him. "'Cause I don't see the point."

"It does."

"Sorry." I apologize, raising my arms in surrender. "I don't remember any Emily." I corrected myself, even though I still don't see the point of it.

"Better." He said, grinning. "I love it when I'm right." His grin grew bigger.

"Enjoy it while it lasts." I told him, rolling my eyes.

"Yeah, thanks... Wait, what!" He said, realising what I meant.

"Who's Emily." I once again succeeded in changing the topic.

"The girl who sat on your seat earlier in the book."

"Book?" I asked. "Okay, you have succeeded confusing me. Why are you even bringing education into this?" I asked him.

"Because you love books. You are literally a book worm. All that's remaining is the glasses. I remember when you slept in the library." He said making me recall the time.

I shook my head at the memory. "It was the exam week and I had to study." I said defending myself. "And I was in grade nine." I concluded.

"Same difference." He shrugged. "You know sometimes I get scared that you'd enter into one of those books and become a book character." He mocked. "Maybe we'll name the book BREAKING THE DELINQUENT." He laughed hard.

"Is that a compliment or an insult." I asked, starting to get annoyed.

He looked startled at my sudden outburst. "It was a compliment." He said with an awkward smile.

Then we went silent. The atmosphere suddenly changed. You could say it became awkward for Jack, but what do I care I'm still mad.

"Er... Do you remember the girl you stripped back at school?" He asked, now trying to change the topic.

It took me some seconds, but the memory came flooding back.

"Oh yeah, that black bitch that got me expelled."

"Yes, that one." He sighed.

"What about her?" I asked, raising a brow.

"She's Will's-"

I cut him off. "-side chick?" I made my own conclusion.

"No, she's his cousin." He corrected me.

"Wow! This is such a valuable information." I said, sarcastically. "What on earth am I going to do with an information this huge?"
