A/N: I promised to update my books frequently, but I got sick the past few days. And mind you, I'm still sick, show some appreciation HAHAHAHA.

But hey, here I am, updating still. Even if work can be a bitch...

Anyway! A few accounts just started reading my books and their comments were so funny, I just had to write again. I'll try to update every night from now on, coz I won't let my Isabela crush be just a phase :P Hot girl Isabela for the win, until the very end!!

The sound of footsteps across the pavement resound, with joyous expressions on the faces of the townsfolk. It was the light feeling in the air that you could only have wished for in your old home, and it had truly struck a chord in you that you would never be going back.

It was supposed to make you happy, never to return to the horrid place where you grew up despite all the trauma. Where you met your lover who turned your life around and ended up leaving, where you grew stronger not because of your training or father, but because of all the people who simply wanted a peaceful life; the same people you wanted to protect.

How bittersweet it was to think of all the good times in that dark place. But the kind people you've met could never be as fortunate as you.

Never having a night with proper rest or solitude, it somehow felt as if they were calling for you to help them, seeing their faces just until the second you woke from nightmares— if that's what you would call them. The guilt ate you up, and you didn't know how much longer you could take it.

"I'm sorry I can't accompany you any longer. I know that you haven't been at ease at all since coming here, that's why I think you should try talking to someone about it; what you've truly been through, the hurt, the joy... everything." Dolores says as she places a comforting hand on your shoulder, sympathy clear in her eyes, slight regret swirling along due to being unable to help. "I don't mean to, but sometimes, when I'm up late, I can hear you struggling as you sleep."

You nod, a reassuring smile on your lips while the said woman slowly pulls away. The two of you were amidst the center of town, helping out shopkeeps that needed assistance. You could just spot several Madrigals from where you were, and it just proves how much they all care about each other in the Encanto. "Go on, Dolores. I know you don't intend to listen in, and I can just imagine how burdensome your gift is. Be safe."

With a quick embrace, you part ways, heading in opposite directions. Your eyes travel once again around town. It felt like a different world where colors existed as proof of harmony, compared to the gray scales of your abandoned home, merely patches of color in the few people you loved.

Following the pavements and letting them lead you, your steps slowly get paced as they lead you towards a place you've never seen yet. Cobblestone stairs, somewhat aged but still pleasing to look at just at the edge of town. You head up without thinking much about it.

Vines and flowers decorate the walls surrounding the steps, and it's almost as if it wants to usher you all the way up. Of course, it could have just been Isabela decorating the town with her gift as she had usually done, but the touch of wilder flowers and plants gives you the sense that the area heading upwards was somewhat personal to Isabela herself.

It was quite a narrow ascent, especially because the rooftop it was directing up to came from a slender, but long building. Just as your eye level reaches high enough to take a peek, there you find a garden of plants, varying in color, almost creating a rainbow effect that shines beautifully under the sunset. It was filled with both tall and short plants, grown and placed in a way that could be described as abstract, yet still beautiful.
