The next few days and weeks felt like a blur. My mom explained to me that my dad's brakes went out at an intersection and his car was hit multiple times. There was no way for him to have survived the injuries.

We planned the wake and funeral service. Dealt with accounts that needed to be closed, and money that needed to be distributed to his extended family.

By the end, we were tired and the grieving hadn't gotten any easier.

"You want your own fries, or do you want to share?"

I looked up at my boyfriend Ian and smiled, "Mmmm, share, I want an actual double cheeseburger, so I know I won't finish them."

I looked out his car window as I got an email notification. I looked at the notification and I felt my heart beat faster.

CALLBACK: ROMAN CASTING FOR MIERA LOPEZ.

"Oh my gosh, oh my gosh babe!"

"What Mer, is everything okay?"

I felt the panic in his voice and nodded quickly, "Babe I got the callback. For the big movie! The one from the day my dad passed. I got it!"

"Miera, that's an amazing babe!" He smiled, leaning over and kissing me.

I could not believe it. I actually got a callback. I smiled and couldn't help but feel like my dad had pulled some strings from up there.

I looked up towards the sky, and whispered to myself, "Thank you dad."

"Sweetie, that's amazing! I knew your moment would come!" my mom exclaimed as we pulled the burgers out of bags and set the table up.

"I mean I don't have the part yet, but still! Once you are in with Roman Casting, they call you back so much."

My sister reached over and grabbed her burger, "And with Harry Styles of all people."

"The fruit man?" Ian teased, knowing it would rile my sister up.

"Yes, Ian. Harry Edward Styles. The fruit man." she declared and I couldn't help but laugh.

"I really owe it to him. If I hadn't knocked him down, I would have never gotten a chance. I was too much of a mess."

Ian rolled his eyes, "Well try not to make bumping into him a thing okay?"

I laughed leaning over to kiss his cheek, "Awww babe, I only ever want to bump into you."

"Gross." Des said, sticking out her tongue.

"So what, he's like already got the part or whatever?" Ian asked, biting into his burger.

"Yeah, and the old female lead had scheduling conflicts, so they had to recast."

"Can they recast him too?" He smirked.

My mom laughed, giving Ian's arm a squeeze, "Honey, no one likes a jealous man."

Ian turned bright red and Des started laughing so hard she spit out her drink. I quickly covered my mouth trying to hide my laughter.

"I'm not jealous! I'm just saying my baby deserves to work with the best."

"Ummm, he is the best." My sister added matter of factly.

"He is actually pretty good at what he does, babe. The scene we had was intense and he did such a good job with it."

"Wait, so what's this movie about anyways?" Ian asked, raising an eyebrow.

"It's a dramatic romance."
