It's in human nature to get lured in by dazzles of this dunya.
The thought of possessing immense wealth and power is an easy distraction. While some might get attached to their dreams, others get obsessed with an idea of how they envision their lives to be. A majority get lost in another human and forget themselves.
And in process of it all, they forget that their attachments are nothing but a trial to test their faith—for if they are not careful, these very attachments become the reason for their demise—as it makes them forget that, "Indeed we belong to Allah , and indeed to Him we will return." (2:156)
May Allah SWT protect us from becoming one of those who stray from their way to Him SWT. Ameen.
