"My secretary. Elham"

Masking his displeasure he quickly wore his typical Office look, which made him look arrogant and angry. Did he just embarrass himself in front of an employee? Twenty-eight but the baby of the house. Well, his parents treat him like one. Only a few know about him this childish and funny side.

"I'll talk to you later." Saying that he glanced at his mother before his eyes moved to her. She only passed him a look for a fragment of a second and indulge herself in her work as if no third person is present in the room.

Heading out of the home office, he's mentally preparing all the excuses he is going to throw at his parents.

Clock strike 1:30 which is the time of lunch break. Sitting on the couch contemplating what to do. Honestly, she is a feeling bit awkward. At the office, her routine is set, but here.

"Elham, Chalo. It's lunchtime." Mrs. Siddiqui called her for joining them.

"No. No. I'm comfortable." She hesitated.

"Chalo bhi. Yeha akele raho gi." Her boss asked her again and she doesn't have the heart to make her unhappy.

"Everything is done only your and Zohran Sir signature is needed." Elham showed the official papers of the charity function where their signature was needed.

"I'm heading to the main building as I had talked about it to his secretary, and he informed me, today it wouldn't be possible for him to collect these papers because some International Client would visit them," Elham inform her boss and took her to leave.

She knocked on the door and he looked up from his file. "Can I come in? " She questioned.

His heart pounds hard against his chest. He doesn't know what it is but it feels right. She has some unexpected effects on him.

"These are the official papers of the Charity and your signature is needed here." Her explanation educates him about her sudden visit.

He took the pen and sign the document. She recheck the paper and nodded to leave.

"Elham. Sit." She turned on his order and look at him. Hesitantly took her seat. This is the very first time they're sharing so much space. Internally she's nervous, and desperately waiting and silently prying whatever words he's about to throw at her wouldn't make things upside down.

Scratching his neck with his forefinger, he's preparing how to articulate in the best way possible so she could agree without much thought. She makes him nervous, excited, and curious, he felt an unwanted pull toward her. Something he doesn't want to name and accepted it.

"Hadi, my assistant is resigning and I've already taken personally a few interviews, but none was up to my requirement and I couldn't go without assistance for a week or two but recently my company has signed a few international projects which cannot be kept at bay."

She's keenly listening to him and the only question is screaming in the back of her head, "why is he saying all this to me?" But she waits, waits to let him complete.

"My mother doesn't need an assistant and besides that, she could get any other assistant, would you accept my offer of being my assistant."
