"Did.. mom... just.. apologize?!"
I asked once we reached another part of the house, after haul assing, and the laughter had died down.
"Hmph, I think she did. But to daddy. Not to us." Raven replied. "Or me." She says more bitterly.
"Ven, that was huge of her to even say that to dad. With that being said, I don't think you'll even get that apology." I said to her.
My mom never apologized so for her to do it twice in one day. HA.
"You think I don't know that! But that's the point I don't just want one, I deserve one!"
She shouted out in one of our many seating areas in the house.
An area we ran to hideout in, mind you.

"Yes. I believe I do deserve one, Mother." My sister said facing her, standing her ground, as she always does with everything she did.
"I don't think you realize the exact position you put us all in. Especially me, with Austen. You know how I was after Dam...aaf—after my little boy."
She chokes up at my nephew's name. She still can't say it without breaking down. It's been this way for months now.
