Arthur didn't dare speak as he sat on his Throne. He didn't even dare to look at the fuming Dark Goddess next to him. The only sound that filled their Throne Room was the clacking of Mara's nails on the armrests of her Throne.
Clack, clack, clack...
Mara breathed harshly through her nose, her ample chest rising and falling with each heated breath. She planned that David would be foolish enough to rush in to save Lilliandil, but did not plan on him destroying her..."Zero EMP," he had called it.
Nor did she then plan for the Goddess Lilith to completely sever her hold over their Narnia.
Clack, clack, clack...
She had everything going for her, for them, to crush David and all the others and finally extend her rule across universes- Mara shivered at the thought.
She miscalculated the involvement of the Stars- their importance, their power, their influence, everything from the depth of Lilliandil's love for him to the depth of David's Star Power to the might of Starsong.
Clack, clack, clack...
Mara bristled in her Throne. Just because her hold over Lilith's Narnia was lost didn't mean her magical reach was similarly lost- she could still pick out happenings and occurrences in albeit-now-foggier detail if the use of magic was involved.
And her most recent influx of information that had just occurred pointed to David and Lilliandil now settling beyond the stars, where they would certainly only grow more powerful and influential. Mara almost spat at the thought- of it being possible to become so powerful that she would be the Goddess of the universe, the cosmos, and beyond, and such a newly minted position was in the hands of her annoyingly persistently-surviving enemies.
Mara closed her eyes and took a calmer, deeper breath. She supposed the next course of action would be to strike at their new cosmic empire, but after that...
"David thinks the Revolution is over," Mara uttered bitterly, her voice echoing through the darkness of her dominion, "but he forgot about the Narnians he abandoned on this side of the Veil."
