i wrote this in 23 minutes and idk tbh. it's a laidback one, as it was a really random song idea i played around with. i didn't expect it to actually work-

yes, the bridge is ofcourse not to be taken seriously ( i think? ). it's a simple song, about when you know you're about to fall for someone, and you don't want to. i hope you'll enjoy!!

REFRAIN:

Streetlights flickering

They got me wondering

What could become of you and me

CHORUS:

Your street is a road

I yet don't quite know

The pavement is rocky

I won't trip, if I'm lucky

But knowing myself

I'll soon be falling

Right into your arms

Sprung back with a broken heart

Oh, just not yet

It's only the start

1ST VERSE:

The streetlights fuming in red

I've been there, I've done this

But it's always easier said

I should know better

So I'll try and discard

All the questions in my head

Wondering what we are

But I can't help myself

Love is a war

Fought between my heaven and hell

And I forgot to bring my sword

So hey, I'm bored

Would you tell me a little more

About you and what you've gone through

The more I know

The more I fall

I can see the dead end's ghost

And she's not standing so tall

REFRAIN:

Streetlights flickering

They got me wondering

What could become of you and me

CHORUS:

Your street is a road

I yet don't quite know

The pavement is rocky

I won't trip, if I'm lucky

But knowing myself

I'll soon be falling

Right into your arms

Sprung back with a broken heart

Oh, just not yet

It's only the start

BRIDGE:

I'm concealed, lost in the game

Hopscotch, I'm illused by your ways

And close to the next jump

The one I should runaway from

But I can't stay away

I mean, what's one more day?

Or one more week

Holy shit, I think we're meant to be

I bet in eight years we'll be married

You and me

Perhaps I'm think too far ahead

And it's only in my head

What could go wrong?

Oh wait, a lot of things could

Damn, why didn't I overlook

No, you'd never like me

Or would you?

Hey, could you?

2ND VERSE:

Oh, I shouldn't take it too far

I don't hope that one day I'll want more

As you're someone I care for

The last thing I'd want

Is for you to hurt

REFRAIN:

But the streetlights are still flickering

They got me wondering

What could become of you and me

CHORUS:

Your street is a road

I yet don't quite know

The pavement is rocky

I won't trip, if I'm lucky

But knowing myself

I'll think I'm falling

Right into your arms

Sprung back with a broken heart

Oh, just not yet

It's only the start

OUTRO:

Yeah, it's only the start
