She starts to cry

Mia's tears of sadness turn to tears of joy as she gives her big bro a hug

She runs off somewhere else

Rocky turns around and sees Bridget
Rocky: Oh, um, thanks
Bridget: You know, you kinda remind me of my dad. He helped his siblings like a dad when they were little. Can I ask you something about Mia?
Rocky: Depends on what it is
Bridget: Is there any reason she acts a lot younger than she is? I don't mean to be rude about it, i'm just wondering
Rocky: It's her way of coping with her past I guess. She wasn't able to be herself until the age of 5, and she hasn't ever let go of it... I'm gonna go for a walk. Tell Mia that if she needs anything I'll come back immediately
Bridget: Ok then. Are you alright?
Rocky: Yeah, yeah, I just need some fresh air and some time to think about... things
10 Years ago, on Mia's birthday
Rocky: Listen. Today is the day.
Mia: What day?
Rocky: The day you get out of here. Listen. We don't deserve to live like this! This isn't living. I'll keep the old man distracted, then I want you to run. Run to the orphanage. Get adopted and live the best life possible!
Mia: *starts to cry* B-but what about you?
Rocky: Don't think about me! The thing I want most is your happiness. I don't care what happened to me in the slightest. Only what happens to you!
Mia: I'm not going without you!
Rocky: You need to. I will do my best to get out too. But assume I won't because I don't know if it is possible. You know I do want to sugarcoat it for you, but this is the most important thing now. For us Mia!
They have a tear filled goodbye hug
Rocky: I'll distract him. You know what to do afterward
Mia: I'll try to get you out! I'll find a way.
Rocky runs to their father and only seconds later there are screams of pain and broken glass as Mia runs towards the door. She was about to run out, but couldn't go alone. She ran towards them. She might have not had a plan, but adrenaline beats all plans for her.
Dad: What the peck do you want pipsqueak?
Mia: My big brother!
She jumps at his head and turned into a tortoise, using her shell to smash him in the face, knocking him out, then turned back
Rocky: What. Just Happened?! Actually, nevermind! Let's go!
They both ran into the woods, getting as far away as possible
