Hailey and Jay had been living together for just over a year now, they had married shortly after, privately away from everyone else.
Their relationship got stronger and stronger, with each of them sharing more of their up brinings.
Hailey more than Jay.
Everyone knew Jay was stubborn. Especially when admitting that he was ill.
-
"Jay, come on babe, we have to get to work" Hailey spoke, rubbing her husbands back soothingly
"Gimme a minute" was all Jay rasped back, coughing as he did so
"You not feeling well?" Hailey asked, sitting down on the bed by Jay, who turned his head and smiled
"I feel fine babe, just a dry throat" Jay lied, but unknown to him, his face showed his lie, pale and blood shoot eyes was the face his wife saw
"Fine, but come on, up and out of here, we are going to be late" Hailey sighed, shooting a quick text to everyone not to mention how ill Jay looked as she walked out the bedroom
Twnety minutes later, the pair were on their way to work, Hailey was driving as Jay decided he wanted to sleep on the way to work.
This worried Hailey even more as Jay hated sitting passenger, but she didnt question it, as she knew how emotional her husband could get when he was sick.
Pulling up at the district, she gently shook Jay awake, who woke with a start having been deeply asleep and extremely comfortable.
"Your ok, sorry I didn't mean to scare you" Hailey soothed, cupping her hands round Jays face and gently kissing his forehead, taking note of how hot he was
"It's ok, let's go before Hank kills us for being late" Jay whispered, voice rough and small shivers racking his body
"Jay-" Hailey started but her husband had walked away before she could finish
Walking through the front doors, she was met by Trudy Platt who smiled sadly and motioned her over.
"He's looking terrible, and I am guessing you tried to make him stay at home?" Trudy asked,
"Yea, as always he is being stubborn, I'm going to call Will when I get upstairs" Hailey said, before walking upstairs to where the Intelligence team were
As Hailey walked into the bull pen, she instantly looked towards her husbands desk where the man was sat, leaning back with his eyes shut, shivering more noticeably.
Shaking her head at how stubborn the man was, she walked over to him and gentoy pressed another kiss to his forehead, wincing when she relaised he had gotten warmer in the short time theyd been here.
"Jay, I think we need to get you home, you're burning up" Hailey soothed, heart breaking when Jay whimpered and nodded in defeat
"I feel horrible" was all he replied, tears starting to form
"Hey, don't cry, you're good, come on" Hailey whispered, helping her husband up, gasping at how much he was sweating
"I'm so cold, need my jacket" Jay groaned, reaching for his jacket but crying out when Hailey took it from him
"You're going to overheat if yiu wear that, Adam or Hank come help me get him back to the car please" Hailey asked
"No, I don't need any help, I just wanna go home" Jay whimpered, taking Haileys hand and walking slowly towards the stairs
"Ok, Ok, see you all later" Hailey sighed, motioning to Hank she would call him later with an update
The drive home was silent, aoart from small sniffles coming the unwell veteran. Soon they arrived home, but Jay made no motion that he was ready to move just yet.
