Kevin and Adam try to teach their younger brother Jay how to dance .. but he falls and breaks the mirror
-
Jay was sat on the sofa, giggling at his two older brothers Kevin and Adam as they did the dance routine that they needed to do for the school assignment; they were pretty good and it was also fun to watch.
Jay cuddled closer into Kim's warm body, listening to her read the book to him while watching his brothers. Hailey was also sat on the sofa, reading her own book but amiling at the older boys.
"Jay, want to learn?" Kevin asked, smiling at the youngest
"No, it's ok" Jay smiled shyly, not wanting to intrude
"Come on buddy, and then we can show dad when he gets home from work" Adam smiled
"Adam, he doesn't want to" Kim sighed, but was surprised when the smaller boy jumped from his position and starting wiggling from side to side with the music
The elders laughed, and soon everyone was up and dancing along to the music that was playing from the speakers in the corner of the living room. Jay was laughing loudly, and felt the happiest he had been in a long time, however the laughter was short lived.
The smallest tripped over a piece of the carpet and fell head first into the corner of the mirror with a loud cry. Adam was quick to turn off the music, running over to his smallest brother and picking him up.
The eldest couldn't help but grimace as he saw how deep the cut was; it was just above Jay's eyebrow and would definitely need stitches. At the same time, Hank walked through the door and rushed into the room to see his youngest covered in blood while being cuddled by his eldest.
"What happened?!" Hank asked loudly, quickly taking Jay into his own arms
"He was dancing with us, and tripped into the corner of the mirror" Adam stuttered out
"Ok, Jay, baby, I need you to calm down for me, we will need to take you to the hospital" Hank soothed, grabbing Jay's jumper that was sat on the sofa and holding it to the bleeding wound
"Daddy, it hurts" Jay cried loudly, trying to get closer to Hank
"I know baby, Kim can you get me his dummy?" Hank asked
"Yea course" Kim replied, rushing into the kitchen where her brothers dummy sat
Jay was still crying loudly, even when he was handed his dummy. Hank was getting worried, as the boy showed no sign of calming down, so he rushed out of the front door and placed Jay in his booster seat. This caused the youngest to cry even more, reaching for his daddy but the older man had already shut the door.
"Adam, you're in charge, I'll be back later" Hank rushed out, placing quick kisses on all his kids heads
"Can't we come with?" Hailey asked
"No baby, I'm sorry" Hank sighed, hugging his youngest daughter close
Getting back into the car, Hank winced at hiw loud Jay was still crying, and turned to see that the make shift bandage wasnt doing a very good job at keeping the bleeding at bay. Not knowing what else to do, he rushed the 15 minute drive to Chicago Med, phoning Connor to meet him outside.
"Hank, you ok?" Connor asked, seeing how distraught the father was
"Jay needs stitches, he's cut his head pretty badly" Hank rushed out, opening the back door for Connor to see
"Oh poor little man" Connor sighed, carefully picking up the crying 8 year old
"Hurts Uncle Connor" Jay cried, hands reaching to move the bandage but Connor was quick to stop him
"No touching baby, come on, let's go get this fixed up" Connor soothed, carrying his nephew into a treatment bay with Hank following closely behind him
"Daddy" Jay cried, only now noticing that it wasn't Hank holding him
"Daddy is here baby, you're ok" Hank soothed, taking Jay from his uncle and placing him on his lap
"Hank, I'm not going to sugar coat this, it's going to need stitches and he isn't going to like it" Connor said quietly into Hanks ear
"Can't you put him to sleep or anything?" Hank asked, holding Jay close to his chest
"No, he's too small, I can give him a general anesthic" Connor replied, rubbing his hand down the distraught childs back
"That'll have to do, he'll be traumatised otherwise" Hank sighed
Connor nodded, and grabbed the mask that would make the boy sleepy, he would still feel the sensation of the situation but not completely. It was still going to be extremely unpleasant, and Connor could only hope the small boy would still love him the same.
He gently placed the mask of Jays mouth, helping Hank lay the child down, which made him scream out louder, trying his hardest to get back into his daddy's arms. All Hank could do was hold his arms down and whisper sweet nothings into his ear.
"You gotta do it Connor" Hank said
"Ok, ok" Connor nodded, grabbing his stuff and quickly getting to work on stitiching the cut closed
The cries got louder, and bith older man were struggling to keep tbeir own tears at bay; it sounded like Jay was being murdered, between the shouts for it to stop and for his daddy, the boy's voice started to become more and more raspy.
What felt like decades, when in reality it was only a few minutes, Connor was done. He placed a large plaster over the stitiched wound so that the young child wouldn't be able to pick at the new stitches and allowed Hank to pull the boy back into his arms.
"Shush, daddy has you, daddy has you" Hank soothed, walking around ghe treatment room, gently patting the boys bum as he had done since he was a baby
"I'll call Antonio" Connor whispered, leaving the room so that the pair were alone
"Baby, please calm down for daddy" Hank soothed, grabbing the boys dummy from his pocket and letting the boy take it
The loud cries soon turned into soft sniffles, and Hank sat back on the bed kissing Jay's head gently. The door opening made Hank turn and he smiled when he saw his boyfriend, Antonio walk into the room with Jay's blanket and plush Frog.
"Hey babe, he ok?" Antonio asked quietly, handing the items to Hank
"He's in pain, and traumatised but he'll be alright" Hank sighed, leaning into Antonios chest when the man sat behind him
"Papa" Jay mumbled quietly
"Yea baby, papa is here" Antonio soothed
