Hank is concerned as to why his 8 year old son has not come home from school
-
It was 1800hrs, and Hank was pacing back and forth trying to get a hold of his son Jay, the boy was only 8 and was always strictly told to come to the district after school.
He would sit in the break room doing his homework until the Intelligence Unit were to go home at around 2000hrs. Looking at the clock, Hank decided to give him another hour, maybe he had been asked to stay behind.
That wasn't the case, Jay had been attacked as he walked of the last class of the day; he had been excited as it was a Friday meaning the whole Intelligence Unit would be coming round for a takeaway and movie night.
Instead he had been tripped up, beaten and dragged into his small locker. He had heard the door shut loudly behind him, and the lock turn before silence was all he heard. At first he stayed silent, thinking it would be a joke but eventually he realised that he was stuck.
The small 8 year old banged on the metal door, crying out for someone to help him but it fell on dead ears as everyone had left early due to it being a Friday. The school security guard was on the opposite side of campus in the office so he couldn't hear the small boys cries.
"Have any of you heard from Jay?" Hank asked, walking into the bullpen
"He texted me to ask if I could bring the GrownUps movie, but that was at lunch time" Adam spoke up, picking up his phone, frowning when he saw no new messages from the smallest Voight
"He's late, and he's never late" Hank sighed, grabbing his jacket, motioning for Kim and Hailey to follow him
The two women were closest to Jay, they were his only motherly figure he had and they were always there for him in ways that Hank could not. Hank asked the rest od the team to meet him back at the house that the two lived at, incase Jay had made his way straight there instead of the district.
The trio parked up at the school, being met by the security guard at the office. He had looked back on the cameras and had seen that Jay had been shoved into a locker. The officer had apologised profusely but Hank had told him he wasn't at fault.
The four arrived at the locker, and made quick work of unlocking the door, all their hearts breaking at the sight they were met with. Jay's small body was curled up, fast asleep with tear tracks clear on his face. There was a cut on his eyebrow, and some bruises on his legs and arms but other than that he looked unharmed.
"Jay, hey little man, can you wake for daddy" Hank asked softly, reaching to rub Jay's back
"Daddy" Jay mumbled, eyes opening slowly
"Hey little man" Hank smiled, softly pulling his som out of the tight locker
"Daddy, didn't like it, too tight" Jay cried, hugging his dad tightly, loud sobs leaving his mouth
"I know baby, but daddy has you now" Hank soothed, standing slowly while keeping his small son in his arms
"Thank you for your help, you'll probably hear from us on Monday, we will be taking this further" Haileh said to the security guard who nodded, giving her his number so she could contact him
The woman walked behind Hank, watching with sad smiles as Jay cried into his dads neck, repeating how scared he had been and how he thought nobody would come and find him.
Kim had texted the boys who were waiting at home, explaining the situation and they were quick to say they would pick up food, and set up for the movie night so that Jay would know that he is safe and loved.
Hailey drove back to the house, by now Jay was calming down and was settled quietly against Hanks chest, his thumb had found its way into his mouth and Hank couldn't find it in him to tell him off.
"He's not going back to school" Hank said softly
"We can homeschool him from the district, I have workbooks that I can work on with him" Hailey smiled
"I really appreciate you all, you have really become like his older siblings" Hank smiled, climbing out of the car with Jay still in his arms
"We love him like our own brother too" Kim smiled, as she unlocked the door
Walking into the house, Hank smiled when he saw how the team had tried to keep normality for the small traumatised child. Jay had now woken up and was slowly looking around the room, smiling widely when he saw who was also in the room.
He wriggled to get out of his dads arms, and stumbled into Adams arms. The blonde haired man, brought him into a tight hug, blowing raspberries into his neck, which brought out loud giggles from the child.
"I'm sorry you had to deal with that buddy, we will fix it all for you" Adam whispered to the child
"It's ok Addy, I was saved by daddy, Kimmy and Hails" Jay smiled
Adam nodded, before sittinf down on the sofa, and grabbing the remote. Everyone else had done the same, with food containers filled with chinese ready to commence the weekly movie night. Jay ate eagerly, laughing at the film thag was on the screen, he hadn't forgotten the fear he felt, but it was slowly becoming manageable now that he was surrounded by the poeple he loved the most.
