12| Maybe

Jeongin smiled as the front door opened and Chan was revealed.

"Hi." The younger said breathlessly. He doesn't think he'll ever get used to Chan's visuals.

"Hi." Chan smiled and grabbed Jeongin's hand before pulling him into his house and closing the door.

Jeongin made a sound of impact as their chests collided. They had their arms wrapped around each other in a warm embrace.

"I missed you."

"We saw each other on Friday." Jeongin stated as Chan kissed all around his face.

"Now it's Sunday, it's been too long." Chan replied as he kissed the tip of Jeongin's nose.

Chan had a smile on his face, Jeongin couldn't help but stare at him with big doe eyes.

And this time it was Jeongin who closed the distance between them.

Jeongin pulled back, laughing at Chan's dazed look. He flicked the older's forehead and moved to the couch.

"Ow.."

"Oh hush, you looked lost." Jeongin rolled his eyes and grabbed the remote to put on his favorite movie.

Chan sat next to him on the couch and turned towards Jeongin, there was a teasing look on his face.

"What?" The younger questioned, putting the remote down.

Chan leaned closer to him, "I think you're starting to like me, Yang Jeongin."

A light blush dusted Jeongin's cheeks but instead of pushing the older away and saying a sassy comment, he leaned closer and kissed him again, whispering, "Maybe I am" against his lips before pulling away.

Jeongin smirked as Chan leaned back and cleared his throat before changing the subject, "How's Seungmin and Felix?"

Jeongin sighed.

"Felix is depressed, Seungmin is depressed and frustrated. We didn't tell them but they're aware that Jisung and I alternate visits between them."

"Why did they break up?" Chan laid his head on Jeongin's lap and looked up at him.

"Apparently Seungmin found his soulmate and Felix wants Seungmin to give his soulmate a chance even though Seungmin doesn't want to."

"Oh...jeez. I get Felix's point of view but still, that's a lot...would you do that?"

"Do what?" Jeongin moved his gaze down to meet Chan's eyes.

Chan adjusted himself a bit before responding, "If we weren't soulmates, if we were just dating but I found my soulmate, would you tell me to be with them?"

Chan noticed the frown that subconsciously appeared on Jeongin's face, the younger seemed lost in thought. He was going to speak again but Jeongin finally spoke,"I wouldn't force you to do anything. I would just want you to be happy."

Chan remained silent while Jeongin watched the film he had played, The Greatest Showman.

Suddenly he heard it, Jeongin's singing voice.

"You claim it's not in the cards and fate is pulling you miles away and out of reach from me, but you're here in my heart." Jeongin lightly sang out, engrossed in his favorite scene of the movie.

It was beautiful.

Chan was too distracted to realize that the younger didn't ask him the same question.

________

Monday afternoon was awkward.

Seungmin played with his food while Felix faked enthusiasm as he talked about a new show with Jisung. Once again the seating arrangement had changed: Felix, Jisung, Minho, and Hyunjin on one side. Jeongin, Chan, Seungmin, and Changbin on the other.

Changbin could feel all of Seungmin's negative emotions. He couldn't help but feel bad for his soulmate. He wanted to stop himself but he couldn't, but with a single pat on the shoulder, Seungmin's worries slightly ceased.

He smiled at Changbin, thanking him for the support. The older knew it was a shitty situation: Seungmin was undoubtedly in love with Felix meanwhile Changbin never had the desire for a soulmate in the first place. Nevertheless, he couldn't be a jerk to Seungmin, they were fated after all.

And that's how lunch went for weeks. Eventually everyone one got used to it, everyone but the broken couple.
