Aether POV
"Sorry about that again you two, you see I have a young master back home and I'm always having to wake him up! When he's here of course..Oh and I have a young lady at home too..I'll actually be taking you to meet her right now, and maybe we can discuss how we can get you to meet the Raiden Shogun...hahaha....." - T
Thoma was really one awkward soul wasn't he.
As we traversed through and out of Ritou, seemingly still embarrassed by the previous encounter, he babbled on and on about a 'Young Master and Lady' that he wanted us to meet.
Even Paimon was quiet for once!
Me and Xiao walked side by side, soaking in the unfamiliar environment of a new land. Whilst Thoma continued rambling I leaned into Xiao, wanting to share a conversation with him.
"Hey Xiao, it looks like it's also your first time here..I would think you may have been here in the Archon War or something..." - A
He tilted his head slightly.
"Hm. Not at all actually. Its the opposite, after escaping my last master, He took me in and gave me a home..I never desired to leave Liyue again, I wanted to stay by his side and fight to protect the home that he had gave me. That's why I.."- X
"You love him. Don't you? - A
He jumped back shocked and perplexed.
"No. Of course not! I love you Aether how could you even-" - X
I laughed.
"Oh Xiao, you misunderstand me. You see love is a universal thing, there are many forms of love. Not just the love that I have for you." - A
He relaxed slightly, a lot less tense than before.
"Zhongli is the one that helped you right? He saved you and looked after you. So he's almost like a dad? At least that's how I think about it." - A
"A father? I mean, he raised me and trained me and always looked after me but..." - X
"It's all right Xiao, you don't have to think too hard. I was just projecting..you see I'm not a normal immortal. I was born from a star along with my sister..we didn't really have a mother or a father..I'm quite jealous actually!" - A
His eyes softened. I felt a sharp pain at my heart, I didn't want him to pity me, not at all.
"Don't look at me like that. And anyways I think that it's better that it was always just me and her.." - A
He blinked at me curious.
"Aether, I have been meaning to ask you about your past adventures. What did you see when you were in other worlds?" - X
Oh. So he wanted to know.
"Hmm. I guess you could say there were some worlds we stayed in for longer than others..The ones we left quickly were those who had destroyed, crippled, civilizations..there was just nothing left for us to save. Leaving those worlds hurt the most. There were also many worlds we made friends in, it was quite sad leaving them behind..." - A
His face dropped, he suddenly grew weary.
"Are you...are you going to leave me as well?" - X
My heart stopped.
You see, I hadn't thought this far. I had been so used to being with Xiao, that I had forgotten the true meaning of my journey, to find my sister and to continue on with our endless journey.
What would happen if I found her? If she agreed to leave? Though that now seemed impossible now, what if it did happen? What would I do?
My heart ached in my chest. Lumine she..she clearly had no intention with returning with me. The thought of that had my head pounding profusely.
I flinched harshly.
"Aether are you alrigh-" - X
And yet...
I couldn't bare to leave Xiao. My heart was swelling, pulsating in my chest, one day I would soon be faced with such a desicion and I couldn't help but dread it.
Throughout all my incoherent thoughts I felt a hand slide through my clenched ones and my head shot to the side looking at Xiao.
My lips trembled.
"Xiao? Why-" - A
He smiled softly.
"Don't worry about it. I'm here now." - X
"Xiao. You-" -A
A high pitched voice pierced the surroundings.
"Ooo we seem to have arrived. Traveler we are finally meeting the 'Young Lady' I can't wait!" - P
"Yes we have finally arrived. Just this way" - T
I had forgotten about the both of them.
He led us though a large gateway and the beautiful Inazuman decore caught me off guard. The smooth, polished wood seemed to glow in the setting sunlight and the intricately carved roofs gave it a beautiful vintage finish.
"Woaahh. Its so pretty here!" - P
Thoma laughed.
"Yes...well I do my best to keep it nice and organised." - T
I pulled Xiao by his arm and we followed Thoma as he led us into the main estate of the large house.
"Where exactly are we right now?" - X
"Funny you ask. We are at the Kamisato Clan's Estate. I am the number one housekeeper and I help the Young Lady and the Young Master. I mostly help the Young Master however he isn't here very often so..I guess I'm free most of the time." - T
"If you follow me, my lady is waiting for our arrival" - T
We headed inside what seemed to be the main estate.
"Wait here, just for a second!" - T
And then he left the room.
I was still holding onto Xiao's arm as we both observed the cosy looking room. In the far end of the room there was what seemd to be a flat desk..it was probably where they ate.
Paimon floated around the place and I scolded her, telling her not to touch anything.
She was such a child.
"Hello, Traveler and Companion. It is great to finally meet you." - ??
We turned around, startled by the soft yet authorative voice.
"Kamisato Ayaka. A pleasure to make your acquaintance." - K.A
