I was exiting Kate's room when I saw Dex waiting in the hallway.
Dex
- How is she? - he asked with a hint of worry in his voice.
Blake
- She is asleep...
Dex was staring at the door behind me.
Dex
- She...had no reason to outburst like that... - he wondered about yesterday.
Blake
- We don't know the whole-
Kendra
- Hey - Kendra's sudden voice came out of nowhere startling me and my friend.
Kendra
- We need to talk - she announced with a cold voice.
Dex and I looked at each other.
*A few moments later in the kitchen*
We were sitting around the expansive kitchen table facing Kendra.
The silence was deafening.
Kendra
- Go ahead, "express" your thoughts about yesterday first, then we will get to the point - the anthros stern voice ripped through the air.
I leaned on the table and looked into her "I know what you're about to say" eyes.
Blake
- You were way too cold on Kate yesterday. You saw and you knew that her mental state during, ahem, "the outburst" was unstable. We all noticed. But you kept calling her Spectre. She could've hurt us - I reminded her in a serious tone.
Dex
- And also, you said something about human experiments. If it's about humans, then we should know - my friend added also glaring at her.
A sigh of prediction left her.
Kendra
- Welp, good job. You got to the point by yourselves. You, Blake, mentioned her mental instability and ability to hurt us. And our medic mentioned the human experiments. Take a look at these if you want answers - she pulled out a folder from underneath the table.
It had "FAHA: Classified" stamped on it in big red letters.
Blake
- I won't even ask how she managed to get these...
She opened the folder revealing a bunch of documents.
Kendra
- Go ahead, take a look...
I extended my hand and grabbed the first one.
Blake
- Experiment... "Phantom"? - I read out loud.
