How Do We Date - Riddle + Floyd

Chapter 5 - part two

Riddles POV

Floyd continued down the street with his fast pace, passing by many different shops. Was the place all the way across town? That'd explain why it's taking so-

"Hmph"
My thoughts were cut by this brat stopping all of a sudden. Urg now my nose hurts.

"Hey goldfish wait here for a sec."
The tall brat said in such a cheerful voice, his mood swings are kinda scary.

"Don't take too long."

I replied slightly annoyed, honestly though I was thankful he's back to cheerful, I don't think I'd be able to deal with the grumpy fast walking much longer.

Finally they make it to an open field.. honestly just this view itself was beautiful. It was on the side of the island, a nice colourful green with flowers here and there, onlooking the water that surrounds us. It was also beginning to get darker, having the glow from both the lowering sun and the awakening moon.

"It's so pretty."
I mumbled in amazement.

"Goldfishie~~ come sit with me!"

I turned to see that Floyd had already lay down a picnic blanket, taking out his drink. I only now realized that he's actually kinda cute in this setting. I sat down next to him, looking around to see it's only us two.

"H-hey, Floyd? Isn't there supposed to be more people??"
I asked nervously.

"Yeah, well I thought it'd be nice to go a little early so we can have snacks in the best spot."

"Huh, oh I see getting the best spot early... why'd you wanna see fireworks?"
I asked not really sure what else to say.

"Mmm I thought the goldfishie would like it, plus I think you'll make an interesting expression."
He replied with a smile.

Oh, is that all this is? To see me make different expressions... well I won't get mad because that'd be what he wants. Wait but fireworks don't make people mad what kinda expression is he looking for? Doesn't matter this is just his way of entertainment. To this my chest hurt and I felt a pit form in my stomach.

That cashier also came back to mind, who was that and why did they seem to know one another.. they were also very young and pretty, maybe they...

"Hey Floyd?"

"Yesss~~~?"

"Did you know that cashier at the bakery earlier?"
In the end I couldn't stop myself from asking.

"Mm not really, I have been there before so I've talked to them, and yesterday I dropped off this basket to Ray for today."

"Ray?"

"Yeah that's their name. They were super excited when I dropped off the basket and said it was for a date."
Floyd rubbed the back of his neck.

Ah, i almost forgot this was a date. My face feels hot all of a sudden.

Floyd continued...
"After you left they told me how cute you were and that if something were to happen to you they'd beat me themselves. Eh heh, ain't that funny goldfish~?"

Uh? Most people would be terrified and know not to mess with the twins but they... well I somehow feel relieved?

"Should we take out the desserts?"
I asked, changing the subject but I was also really excited to eat them.

Floyd gave a nod, putting his soda down. He pulled out my strawberry cake along with my strawberry lemonade, he took out a small pack of three mini lemon curd tarts for himself and... another narrow rectangular box ? Did he get something while I was outside?
