BALLOONS POV

This doesn't even feel real
This isn't a dream is it!? No this is definitely real and, here I am dancing with nickel. I couldn't help but smile, who wouldn't? After all, I don't think I would of ever imagined that I would be in this position with nickel, let alone even have a crush on him.
But I'm really glad
Even if this might be the closest thing that I'll get to having a romantic moment together..I think.

Well shouldn't worry about that right now, I should just enjoy what's happening right now, because really, who knows if I'll ever get a chance like this again.

But just like that, the music fades away. It felt like we danced forever, but also at the same time it felt like we haven't danced at all. That no time has passed at all. I got so lost in it I forgot where we even were. We stop moving, still look at each other in the eyes. My mind went blank as I just stared
And he stared back
We didn't move
And for a second, I felt like he might of felt the same

But then it hits me where we are, and how everyone can see us. And then I notice I'm still holding on to nickel. I let go on him and take a step back. Nickel also snaps out of it, his face covered in red. My face wasn't any better. Nickel looked speechless, he just stared at me. I didn't know what to say either.
There was a silence between us, the sounds of other people filling it in.
With all my strength I try to say something at least
"Well uhm-greatdancenickel! I'mgonna,goupstairsnow,bye!" I say quickly, before quickly walking away up the stairs, leaving nickel alone, speechless.

I run into our room shutting the door behind and jumping onto my bed, almost squealing in happiness. i could believe what just happened! THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED RIGHT? THIS ISN'T ONE OF MY DREAMS RIGHT? I pinch myself only to see, yep definitely real! I DONT EVEN- I don't even know what to think! Nickel and I really- oh my god! I switch on a lamp as it was dark in the room.

What does nickel even think? Did he like it, oh no what if he thought it was weird. No, he doesn't right? If he did then why would he even say yes to you asking him to dance, oh yeah. And he did look shocked I guess? Maybe he liked it then! I mean he face was really red, wait maybe he does- okay no let's not just to conclusions now balloon. Plus I doubt it.

I wonder what he's even doing right now. I sit up and take off my top hat to place it on the nightstand. I lay back down staring at the ceiling, letting myself get consumed by my thoughts.

Then I hear the door open
I sit back up, only for my eyes to be met with nickel. He still looked a little surprised "oh hey!- nickel" nickel looks down, his face still red
"H-hey." He closes the door and walks over to his bed, sitting on the edge. We didn't say anything to each other for a moment.
"So- what did you think of the party?" I say kind of quickly, smiling nervously. Nickel first gave a surprised look
"Oh uhm!- it was-....nice" he says with a soft smile, quickly changing it afterwards. "You?"
"Ah well I thought it was uh- fun! Yeah" we fell silent again. It's obvious we both want to talk about the dance, but I don't even know what to say.
"What time is it?" Nickel asks. I grab my phone to check it
"11:15 already?" I say to myself
"Huh, I mean time sure flies when you're..dancing...with..uh-"
"Well it was nice wasn't it? Or at least for me it was" I say mumbling it and the end so nickel didn't hear.
"Yeah..I guess" he mumbles. I could see him slightly smiling in the corner of my eye. I smiled too, hearing that nickel did like it. Maybe not as much as me but, it better than him hating it right?

"So what do you want to do now?" I ask
"I don't know, play Uno?" I nod and go to grab the deck of Uno cards, then sitting down in front of him. I shuffle the cards and lay them out.
"Ready to lose again?" I say smirking
"HA! You wish! I'm gonna win this time." I laugh and pick up my cards Nickel does the same. My cards weren't the best honestly. I pick up the top card from the deck and place it down, seriously a red? I don't even have any.
"Well you can start" He gladly takes the opportunity and places his card down

"Uno!" I call out
"Huh!? Wha- how?! Ugh whatever I can still win this!" He places down a plus 4
"You sure about that?" I say smiling as a place a plus 4 down
"I swear, you've got to be cheating. There is no way that you can win that many times in Uno, especially against me" I shrug
"Well it's really easy I just, do it"
"Yeah cause that explains a lot" he says sarcastically,I smile.
"Hm, I am getting kinda tired though. I think I'm gonna go to sleep" I start to bunch up the cards in a meet pile and place them to the side. I get off his bed and walk to mine when I realise Nickel does the same.
"Uh Nickel?" I stop and slightly turn to glance at him
"What?" Is he- I stay silent for a bit, thinking
"..Nothing never mind" I switch off the lamp and climb into my bed, nickel copying? WHY IS HE- "uhm goodnight nickel" I say in a somewhat new ours and confused tone
"N-night." I close my eyes, trying to ignore THAT NICKEL IS SLEEPING IN THE SAME BED AS ME. I MEAN WE DID SLEEP TOGETHER BEFORE BUT IT FEELS DIFFERENT NOW. My mine keeps racing with thoughts. At this rate I'll never fall asleep.

I open my eyes and stare at nickel
I wonder if nickel is asleep. What if I were just to, hug him? I mean if he's asleep then he wouldn't even know right? But then what if he's not, then it would just be awkward as to why I just did that. I keep staring at him, deciding if I should or not.
"You know..you can just...do it" Nickel opens his eyes, meeting mine for a split second before he looks away. Surprised I blurt out
"wha-?"
"Just hug me already" still surprised I do as he says and see him give me a smile  in the corner of my eye. I smile too, closing my eyes.
I could already feel more relaxed, and I could tell I was drifting off into my sleep.

NICKELS POV

Huh what? This isn't- where's balloon? I sit up from the grass only to see balloon laying across from me, asleep
"Balloon!" I shuffle over to him "Balloon wake up!" I nudge him. He squints his eyes and slowly opens them
"Nickel? What are yo- Wait where are we?" He sits up.
"Uh..I have no idea" I look around, I've seen this place before. I just don't know where. "It looks familiar to me though"
"Does it? I don't really recognise it" my eyes meet a simple red flower, honestly nothing special about it, just an ordinary red flower.
Red flower... where have I seen that before?
Them it hits me

Oh it a dream
Oh it's a dream
"You okay there nickel? You've been starting at those flowers for a while"
"Oh yeah, I'm fine just realised that this is a dream" Balloon made a shocked expression. Wait so if it"s a dream, I can do what I want right?
"Wait you're right, huh I never get lucid dreams"
"But this is my dream?"
"Wait what no it mine"
"Okay is my brain trying to play tricks on me? Cut it out"
"But this is me balloon, you're in my dream"
"Fine then tell me something balloon would only know"
"Once I saw a spider on you're face while you were sleeping and I left it there, sorry"
"I- uhm, sure that works, but so are we sharing a dream or something?"
"Wait but how do I know you're nickel and not just a dream nickel?"
"Yeah, I have no idea. At least I know that I'm real and so are you"
"Well you do seem pretty real to me"
"That's because I am"
"Well what do you want to do?"
"We could..yep I don't know"
"Oh how about we———

Then it's starts to fade away
