I jump from rooftops to rooftops.

"This is NOT a drill. The Spies have begin their attacks. We have pursued with our defence, now it's time for our front liners to begin their attacks."

I grin, my favourite part of being an assassin?

Our kill counts.

"Try and beat me today, Kira." I smirked.

Kira glares at me, "I will. Just watch!" She jumps down from the rooftop building and started attacking an enemy.

"Hah! What about that?"

I shook my head before plunging down to a big group. Within a minute, I had already sink my dagger into each of their hearts.

"Hm." I smiled proudly.

Kira rolled her eyes and continued attacking nearby enemies. My in-ear monitor finally beeps a sound,

"Shinora! We need you at the front line! We suspect he's here."

I smirk, signaling Kira goodbye as I jump in between the buildings as I climb up.

From that height itself, I could see the amount of people coming in.

"Wouldn't hurt to be a second late right?" I drop down to a familliar area, I pick up my sword as I slid my dagger back to its place. I quickly tie the scabbard onto my waist as I rush out to the front.

---

"Please welcome your one and only!" I scream as I slash my sword into two bodies. Their blood splatters as the limbs fall onto the ground.

"What took you so long no. 2? I thought we were going to die." Someone calls out to me as I continued jumping around and slashing every single opponent without any struggles.

I took a short breather, "My bad kid, I was just having a small nap." Hayate jumps in as we did our usual duo attacks.

"But I'm older than you-"

My eyes turn to the person with a death stare, he shuts up.

This world, whether you're older than me or not, if your skills are not better compared to mine or Hayate, you don't deserve the title of being someone older than me.

So far, only Master and someone else meets that title. Only because he raised me and taught me special attacks and formations that fits me and Hayate.

Finally, I met someone from our enemy that meets that title.

"Here he comes!" Someone yelled.

Hayate and I just finished ending of the last of the weaklings.

I turn to face the broken wall, a full black masked man enters.

"Damn, bro going to a funeral." Hayate whispers.

Literally, he was covered with black from head to toe.

In a blink of an eye, he had already stab Hayate's side. My eyes widen in shock as Hayate coughed out blood.

"S-Shi-" he whispered in pain.

Kano.. He.. hurt...

Okay.

No one and I mean no one.

Messes with my one and only best friend.

The moment his feet shifted I already switched to defense mode. I managed to block his attack as I did a 360-turn and gave him a good mid-deep slash on his chest with the hidden blade in my heels. He took a huge jump back, this is a good chance.

I quickly swing my blade towards his body as he blocks my attack. Due to my carelessness he managed to swerve my hand holding the sword away, causing my sword to fly out of my hand. He was quick, smart even.

Atleast he knew how to play fair or else.

We both began hand to hand combat. I was more of defending than attacking.

He's good.

I winced, he attacked my weak spot as he grabs me by the neck. I felt his stare but I kept my calm as I pretended to give him a punch with my right fist but hit him at the side of his head with my elbow. He quickly let go of me as he wobbled around.

That kind of strike causes your vision to blur, well for him. Others might already faint.

I tsked, as I continue giving him kicks as he avoided them with his arms. Then I gave him a direct punch in the face. That must atleast gave him a nose bleed.

He wince, before he took his items and retreat. I tried chasing for him but Hayate held me back.

My heated mess calmed down after seeing how bad Hayate's condition was.

"The Spies has retreated. The leftovers, bring them in and bury them. Make sure they are all dead. Number 2, my office as soon as you take care of Number 3."

I picked up Hayate as I rushed to the sick bay. Hayate is still warm thankfully.

I lay him down on the bed as I ordered the nurses to put him first in line and make sure he's okay before I rushed to Master's door.

*knock knock*

"Come in my dear," I open the door to find Master staring directly at me.

"How can I help you, Master?" I look down to the floor.

He got up and walk towards me, I felt my body shiver in his presence. His hand lightly touches my chin and lifts it up slowly to meet his eyes,

"My dearest No. 2, have I ever need to doubt you?"

"No, not at all Master." I bit my lip, his touch was cold. Ice cold, as if he was dead.

He grabbed my face as he slam me across the room.

Ah, here it is.

"Why did you let him go? Why are you so weak." He quickly held me by my face once again as he pushes me against the wall.

"My apologies Master-"

He punch my face as my bottom lip bleeds, "I don't need your apology. I need your hardwork and your strength."

He kicks me in the gut, before repeating whatever he did.

I coughed out blood, "I will train harder Master."

I stood up shakingly, as he sat back down at his place.

"You may go, the meeting is cancelled due to the attack."

I bowed slightly as I left the room, my body was already hurting from his attacks. Now Master made it even worse.
