Chapter 1-The Search

(Note: This is in someone's POV)

"If I would think of a solution, it wouldn't be searching for young women!"

I proclaimed while slamming the table.

My friends all looked at me.

"Maria, how else can they have Twin Gods be human?"

"Yeah, you're right...But, still..."

We were talking about the strange new order of the kingdom.

But what I also found strange, is that the Queen wasn't in there!

"Minna-san, do you find it strange that the Queen never made a word nor appearance about it?" I asked them.

As I expected, they mostly had shrugs and shaking of heads.

"Maybe she stepped down, you know, since the candidate for the project will be queen. "

"But that's cruel..."I complained.

A few minutes later, we heard metal footsteps accompanied by murmurs of crowds.

We turned around and saw knights carrying a paper.

"By order of the Levan Senate, we have began our search here in the Ruyashi Village. " One of them announced.

"We will search for a woman who has a high potential of magic."

I felt nervous when they mentioned "has a high potential of magic".

"We have! We have!" One of the villagers said.

The knights nodded at him.

"Her!" He pointed at me.

"Uh...me?" I asked.

"Yes, please come with us..."

I slowly stood up and followed them, well this will be something.

At last, when we arrived, they made me enter the large castle.

"Maria-sama, please sit down. " A scientist said to me.

I sat down on a white chair.

"He will be coming anytime soon. "

Who will be coming?

Maybe that's the one who will lead the project.

Just in time, a man also wearing a lab coat arrived. Apart from the first scientist, he had dark blue hair.

"Ah yes, Sir Joseph, we found her. " The scientist greeted him while shaking his hand.

"She is Maria Moonlit, from the village of Ruyashi. "

"The village of Ruyashi?" Joseph asked me, all I did was nod in reply.

"I've heard many wonderful things from this unique village. Also surprised to see a wonderful lady from it be chosen to bring our fate. "

I didn't know what to say...

Thanks? Okay? Considering how this blue-haired man in front of me is the missing Queen's son, I feel a bit nervous.

"Alright, "Joseph Solarid began. "Now, shall we begin our project?"

"Sir, I will inform the scientists to ready the Seed immediately. "

"Yes, you may. "

The scientist ran off towards the hallway.

"Madame, please come with me and I will lead you to the room. "

I sat down on the red chair they prepared for me inside the white room.

There were other seats as well, maybe it was there in case multiple candidates were chosen.

But obviously, I'm the only one and is automatically chosen for this.

I started to think...why did they choose me?

I know one reason was because I was a student of a sorceress and easily learned things, but I know there are others out there!

Oh no, what if they actually overheard me complaining?

Nah, that's impossible.

I looked behind me and there were many notice papers stuck on the wall, I decided to read them.

The rest were all about search confirmations, but one thing caught my eye:

"NOTICE ABOUT THE QUEEN"
Her majesty has refused to let anyone else be queen for the Salvation Project.
So the senate of Levan decrees that she is currently removed from the position of royalty.
Her son, Joseph, will not be recognized as anyone in high position except for being the head scientist for the project.

I felt my eyes widen for that.

I can't believe this, the queen was removed so I can take place?

What would she feel when I do it?

Why would they do this?
