We agreed to meet at the coffee shop at 11:30am the next day. I walked in thinking I was first but Ivy was already sitting at a table with a coffee for herself and a muffin which I assumed was for me since she doesn't like them. She noticed me at the doorway and immediately smiled.

"Hi." I smiled and sat down down across from her.

"Hi, I got you a muffin, chocolate chip." She smiled nervously.

"Thanks." I took a bite from the muffin.

"So how are you?" She asked.

"I'm good, I've gone on Christmas break from school." I replied.

"Oh, that's good." She said.

"So how are you?" I asked.

"I'm good, my family's coming over here for Christmas soon so I'm preparing my apartment for them." She replied.

"That's nice." I smiled although the thought of Christmas slightly upset me.

"Yeah uhm I was actually wondering if you wanted to maybe come over on Christmas Eve to meet them? I mean I-I know it's like really soon but we've been seeing each other for like 6 months now and things are finally ok so I-" I cut her off.

"Hey, no need to ramble about it, I'd love to meet them." I smiled.

"Oh, ok then Christmas Eve, in a week." She seemed to be in a state of shock.

"So I know your brother's names are Raul and Mateo but what about your parents?" I asked.

"My dad's name is Jay, or at least his nickname is. My mom's name is Esmeralda. Also my brother Mateo has a wife named Lilith and two kids named Delfina and Xolo and Raul has a fiancée named Grace and a daughter named Andrea" She explained.

"Ok so Jay, Esmeralda, Mateo, Lilith, Delfina, Xolo, Grace, Andrea and Raul. Got it." I said more to myself.

"Yeah." She said.

"So how old are Delfina, Xolo and Andrea?" I asked.

"Delfina and Andrea are both 3 and Xolo is 1." She said.

"Oh ok." I replied.

"So are you doing anything for Christmas?" She asked.

"I'm not sure, Reyna and my other friends usually spend Christmas with their families but maybe I could do something with Ravi." I replied.

"Your more then welcome to spend Christmas with us." She smiled softly and put her hand over mine.

I smiled back and quickly changed the topic, we kept talking about topics going from the gifts we want for Christmas all the way to some of her past cases I wanted to know about.

We stayed there for an hour talking before her phone started to ring, she quickly apologized and took the call she said was from work.

"Yeah, ok, I'll try my best." She said over the phone.

"What happened?" I asked.

"Shit, I'm so sorry I gotta go to the station." She frowned.

"Ok, you need a ride? You walked here." I asked.

"Yeah actually that would be great." She smiled as we walked out of the coffee shop.

"So why do you have to go?" I asked once we sat in the car.

"Just something about a new case that could be possibly linked to the one we just did." She replied.

"Oh ok." I said.
