That night as Max slept soundly in my room I stayed up, buzzing with inspiration.

The floor of my art studio hasn't looked so lively in a long time, and I've missed it.
I finally feel like the old me.

I have swatches of paint lining my wrists and fingers, dried bits in my hair, half filled mugs littered in several corners.

Because I  kept getting new tea and forgetting about the old one, I'm pretty sure at one stage I sipped from my paint water, fingers crossed it wasn't  toxic. Yikes

Despite all that, I've made major progress on my painting and it no longer looks like a useless blob. There are actually people in the painting. With the correct emotions and tones this time.

And I owe it all to Max.

As dumb as it sounds, his ridiculous clubbing and restaurant date gave me the idea of adding a layer that's only visible in blue light to create that extra "wow" factor and give it an edge.
It's taken a few tries but I  think it works.

"I  didn't feel you come to bed?" Max's morning voice calls from behind me

"That's because I didn't" I answer with a soft smile, his warm arms wrapping around my waist as he buries his head in the crook of my neck

"It's not as comfy without you" he complains and I chuckle. Big baby.
"Not to mention you should be getting a minimum of eight hours of sleep"

"Yes mum" I agree, disregarding his comment. Eight hours a day? More like eight hours a week.

"Have you eaten?" he questions before answering it himself, "I'll make us some breakfast" he pulls away, groggily exiting the studio.

"It's looking great by the way!" he yells from outside the door

"Thanks!" I  yell back smiling to myself because for the first time I actually agree with him. I can look at my work and see actual progress.

Ten or so minutes go by and I continue adding layers to the section I'm working on as the smell of something heavenly fills the apartment. A low grumble vibrates in my stomach. Deciding to listen to it I put a hold on my painting and make my way to the kitchen where I find Max happily eating breakfast.

"I was wondering how long it'd take for you to come out," he comments with a mischievous grin, pushing a second plate of what looks like an omlette, towards me.

"Thank you" I say gratefully, taking the plate and positioning myself on top of the counter next to his seat.

He chuckles softly, shaking his head. My brows furrow, giving him a confused look.

"What?"

"Nothing." he continues, adding food to his fork."you're just cute" he smiles to himself, shoveling his food in, leaving me stunned.

Who is this man and since when did he go from Mr gump to a complete teddy bear?

Not that I mind it just catches me off guard when he compliments me so effortlessly.

The rest of the morning went by calmly as Max and I got ready around each other like it was second nature.

On cloud nine, I sit silently watching as the other students file into english. I  almost didn't notice as Kai took his seat next to me.

I'm pretty sure the only reason he's been showing up to uni and started actually going to his classes is because he gets to see Jesse and I find it adorable.

"Hey Porsche, how've you been?" his signature grin on his face.
"You wouldn't happen to have anything to do with Max's great mood, would you?" he nudges me gently, raising his eyebrows in a suggestive way.
