OVERVIEW:
Sayuri Drake was the last living member directly descended from the ancient Japanese family that led the Sasuke warrior clan. Initially, she was kept unaware of the heavy responsibility she held on her shoulders as a result of being descended from the leaders of a warrior clan but when she turned fifteen, she had to take up that responsibility.
Despite having a family in the form of her father and brother in Gotham, she was sent back to Japan to her maternal relatives where she was finally made aware of the legacy written for her. She was supposed to be the next leader of the Sasuke clan after her mother and had to prove herself worthy of the title.
But it did not just end with Sayuri claiming the title of the clan's leader. By default, all her mother's enemies and the people who were against the warrior clans became her enemies as well and life took a dangerous turn for her.
In the dark dreary life she led, there was only one ray of light that kept her going. But fate, as always, had other plans and Sayuri had yet to face the toughest battle of her life.
A battle in which she could lose everything.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
This is the prequel to Katana | R. Grayson and focuses on Sayuri's life before she came to Gotham after losing everything. It takes into account what happened in her past that was briefly touched upon in Katana, but in this story, those years she spent as a warrior clan leader are the main focus of the story.
I wasn't initially planning to write this but a reader requested to read the prequel and I couldn't stop thinking about it ever since. I don't have much time on my hands these days so I can't say for certain when this story will be published but if it does get to see the light of day, be prepared to be hit with an emotional roller coaster of thriller, romance, action and of course tragedy.
Considering all the damage I have in store for this book, I definitely enjoyed writing this most. I hope you guys enjoy reading it too though be waned, keep a box of tissues and some ice cream nearby while reading.
