It was the great day.
Well, at least for everyone else in the castle.

Y/N was getting ready, while Ron was staring at his reflection, muttering curses under hsi breath for how ugly and ridiculous he looked in that dress.

Y/N ignored him, and looked at his own reflection one last time.

He was wearing a black ceremony dress, and had tried to comb his hair, but as always, taming his hair was useless.

In the end, he just left them the way they were.

He walked downstairs, where Lavender was already waiting for him.

She looked at him from the tip of his hair to his feet, but quickly regained her composure.

Y/N: You look... Stunning.
He said, smiling awkwardly, as he tried to make her a compliment.

Y/N: I suck at this. I'm actually better at cursing people, now that I think of it...
He thought, as she gave him a smile.

Lavender: Thank you.
She said.

Y/N: Why does she keep smiling like that? She gives me the creeps. Do all girls act this way?
He thought, as he looked at her.

Y/N: Ehm... Shall we go?
He muttered, reluctantly offering her his arm.

She nodded, still smiling, and then they both left the Common Room.

As they made their way to the Great Hall, many people stopped to look at them, and that just made Y/N feel more anxious.

He wasn't used to all that eye contact from so many people at once.

Y/N: I want to apologize in advance.
He said, as they got inside the Great Hall.
She looked at him.

Lavender: For what?
She asked.

Y/N: I don't know how to dance. I've never danced before, and I might stomp on your feet, so... Sorry.
He blurted out, looking away.

Lavender: Don't worry. I'll help you out.
She said.

Y/N: Thanks.
He muttered.

Y/N: This shit is getting sweeter than I imagined. I feel like vomiting. Like... Right now.
He thought.

That's when he saw Hermione and Krum together. He gave her a thumbs up, and smiled widely.

She smiled back at him, and then, the ball begun.

Lavender told Y/N what to do, and they both started dancing, everyone else soon doing the same.

Lavender: Isn't it fun?
She asked, smiling widely.
She was clearly enjoying herself a lot.

But Y/N was not.

He saw the whole ball as just a ridiculous thing. He had more important things crossing his mind.

But he didn't feel like making her upset.
Y/N smiled awkwardly.

Y/N: Yeah, sure. It's really fun.
