With her part of the plan done with, Heidi headed back home to prepare blood bags for Pearl when she managed to come out of the tomb. Besides, Anna would want some alone time with her mother after all these years, a little mother daughter bonding time that she didn't need to be a part of. Instead, she sat on the sofa of her apartment, drifting into her own world as she stared at the blood bags in front of her.
She'd betrayed and manipulated for her best friend, there wasn't anything she wouldn't do for her. Anna was her family and she didn't care how many people suffered if it meant that she was safe. The thing with her friend was that she was one of the good vampires, she didn't kill for her selfish desires, she killed to save her mother, she did everything for her mother.
Anna had been there for her when nobody else had, dragging her out of the darkest times of her life, reminding her who she truly was. She owed her life to the young vampire and she swore that's what she'd give when it came down to it. Helping her mother was nothing, not even a debt that she wanted paying off, it was just a matter of friendship and she'd do all of it all over again to see the happy expression she wore as she stumbled through the door, snapping Heidi out of her overthinking.
On her arm, her mother clung onto her, barely able to hold herself up from how exhausted she was. "Ben, he's," Anna stumbled over her words as she helped her mother sit on the sofa.
