CHAPTER 6 -

ROSELYN.

"Uhm..." I didn't know what to say because I didn't know what I wanted.
It wasn't easy for me allowing a guy to be near me.
Especially, a stranger.

"Come on, it's pouring."
He said, insisting.
Okay, maybe I could do this.
Maybe, I could forget about Brody for at least a few minutes.
Not blame every guy for his mistakes or the mistakes all the men in my life ever made.
"Okay."
I gave in.

"I'll just put my bag in my locker, real quick." He said and started walking into the building again.
A little confused I watched him leave.
Why didn't he bring it with him?
Or leave it there before we left?

Only two minutes later, he was back and grabbed his keys from his sweatpants.
We quickly walked through the rain to the parking lot.
I looked around the parking lot.
There weren't many cars left, since school had ended over an hour ago.
Suddenly, I hear the sounds of a car unlocking.
But, instead of a car, it was something smaller.
With wide-open eyes I looked at the black, thing where Erling stood.
A motorcycle.

"N-no, I-I can't." I said, feeling fear rising.
"What's wrong?" He asked after getting a helmet out of the little trunk.
"The motorcycle. I-I can't."
I was scared to drive on things like that.
To me they were pure danger.
On those things you were so vulnerable, naked and unprotected.
And also, close to the person riding it.

"You're scared to ride on a motorcycle?"
I looked up to his eyes and swallowed.
It seemed like, he was able to sense my fear, because his voice became softer and confidential, immediately.
"I'll go slow, don't worry."
His eyes, meeting mine.
Meanwhile, I had several things going through my head.
Should I ride with him?
Should I just take the bus and walk through the rain?
Was any of this a smart decision?

Probably, neither.

"You can trust me." He looked down at me with his dark, blue eyes. "I promise, I won't go fast."

Could I trust him? The last time I thought I could trust a man living in my house it ended up with me being naked in my bed and abused.

"Okay?" He asked, still looking into my eyes.

Screw it.

"Okay."

He seemed to be happy about my change of mind.
Erling handed me the helmet.
"Put this on."
Immediately, I did as he said.
I had some problems fixating it on my head, therefore Erling helped me fixating and securing it.

"You look good."

I looked down. Even though, I knew he was talking about my helmet, I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable. "Thanks." Quietly, I answered.
I didn't want to say anything, but it felt wrong not to.
He had no idea what was happening in my life, how his words had power over my emotions and how triggering they could be.

Erling got on the motorcycle and then reached out his hand to me, to help me get on it to.
Hesitantly, I took it and let him help me on the motorcycle.

I was sitting right behind him, with nearly no distance between our bodies.
"Hold on tight to me, okay?"
Hesitantly, I nodded and slowly put my arms lightly on his shoulders.
As I did, I was able to feel nothing but muscles.
The feeling of that made my body shiver, but in a good way, I guess.
