CHAPTER 14 -

ROSELYN.

I sat on the bleachers and continued reading my book.
The wind coming from behind me left a cold breeze on my body.
My eyes wandered to the field, where I spotted Erling quickly due to his light, blonde hair and his massive stature.

He was in the middle of a rehearsal game against some teammates

He was in the middle of a rehearsal game against some teammates.
To be honest: I didn't know much about soccer, but from what I could see, he seemed to be pretty good at it.

"Okay, boys. That's it."
A grown man with a whistle around his neck yelled to the boys.

I looked at Erling, who ran his hands through his sweaty hair while walking towards me.
He jumped over the little fence, as if it wasn't a big deal, and stopped in front of me.
I closed my book and looked up to him.
"And? How's your new reading location?"
His words made me giggle.
"Good."
I could get used to that "new reading location" like he called it. It was quiet in my thoughts even though the boys on the pitch were constantly yelling at each other.
It was as if I couldn't hear them.
Maybe I was able to let myself fall because of Erling being around.
Whenever he was close my body relaxed.
Except earlier.
He scared me a little, when he didn't let me pass to leave his room. I'm sure he didn't mean to scare me.
He had no idea what it looked like in my head and what was going on with me and my life.

He smiled before sitting down next to me and running his hands through his sweaty face.
"You ready to go home?"

I nodded, while biting my lip.
"Okay, good. I'll just get my stuff and then I'll drive you home."

"Thank you." I said, with a soft smile.
"Sure." He smiled back before getting up and jumping over that fence again.

I hated to admit it, but he was kind.
He wasn't like the men I've met before.
He wasn't like Brody, or my dad, or any other shitty person in my life.
I think, he actually cared about people.
Somehow that made it harder for me to stay away from him.

I put my book inside my bag and then walked towards the entry of the gym.
After about 5 minutes Erling got out of the gym and walked up to me.
We started walking towards his motorcycle.
The sun had already gone down, since it was nearly 6 pm.
My body began shaking again by the thought of Brody.
He would be mad, that I was getting home this late.

Erling helped me with the helmet again before getting on his motorcycle, and I followed him.
He drove off seconds later.

During the ride, I thought about the beating, I was gonna endure.
But not only that.
This night he'd visit me again, I was sure of that.
He didn't do it yesterday, so he probably would come to me tonight.
