Nico's head was throbbing...from thinking too much. Great, now he felt like Percy.

He sighed as he tried to concentrate (again) at the frog he was trying to turn into a raven. He'd been waving his wand like that for about half an hour - which roughly translates to a week in demigod terms. Professor Warner, their Transfiguration teacher and head of the Ravenclaw house had been watching over him closely for the last fifteen minutes ever since he accidentally hit a mirror and shattered it, except each glass shards turned into bones. He didn't know if that was a good sign, the look on his teacher's face was a mix of surprise and suspicion and a little bit of awestruck. He didn't know what he was waiting for him to do: make a disaster or somehow make another, well, disaster that he could deem a miracle.

It was annoying.

He found a Ravenclaw inching towards him with a deceiving look of concentration on his face as he kept on flicking his wand at his own bull frog who just looked extremely bored. None of them were getting anything right, but, then again, Professor Warner did say it would take them a few couple of times to get it.

His head started to throb worse the nearer the boy inched towards him. He knew what was going to happen.

"So?" Wyett asked him quietly so that Professor Warner couldn't overhear. "What was that about?"

He pointed his wand at his bullfrog and concentrated. "Speie Mutatio!" He said clearly and a small burst of green came from his wand and hit the frog but did nothing. "What's what?"HE asked nonchalantly.

He loved being a great actor and a liar. Lies seemed to make everything much better.

"Don't lie to me, di Angelo." He said part accusingly and just paused to fire another ineffective spell. "I was there when he recited that poem...thingy. And even I have to admit, that was farther than anything I'd heard her predict since the last two years I'd been in her class. Even Juliette seemed worried."

That caught him off guard. "Juliette? Torrington?" He asked. "How'd she know."

Wyett shrugged in response. "Saw you with that pale face and scrunched up look and asked me."

"And you answered her?"

"Shouldn't I have?"

He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. He almost forgot about needing to convince her. Something told him that despite her calm, cheerful demeanor, she was as tough as nails and as stubborn as a rock. Maybe it was their last meeting...whatever. Still, if she doesn't agree with helping Hecate, he's going to be in serious trouble.

"No," He answered finally. "Just that... Nothing."

Wyett took one look at him before saying, "Mate, you are a really bad liar."

Nico turned to look at him. "Dude. I try very hard to be a good liar and I'd been one too and you insult me?" He meant it to sound sarcastic but instead it came out more offended than he needed it to be.

"Chill, Nico." Wyett said, hands up in surrender. "I was just joking."

"Longbottom! Di Angelo!" Professor Warner snapped from their right. "Less talking, more wand-waving and trying! Or I'll have to deduct points."

The two gritted their teeth and stopped talking. Wyett moved away.

Nico tried not to lose control again. He'd been doing that a lot. PRobably has something to do with the fact that he'd been ignoring his dad's recommendations and had stopped taking that serum. What could he say? It smelled and tasted god-awful. Even when he pinched his nose. He could practically feel his calm side shying away from the side of him that was frustration...which would most likely lead to him blowing up in the middle of Hogwarts and he didn't need that. He tried to drown his thoughts away but as he focused on drowning them out, he just managed to make them yell louder in his head.
