🌱 Tired - Ayato x Kitsune! Reader

Location: Kamisato Estate

(Y/n) arrived at the entrance of the Kamisato Estate, greeted by the guards. "Welcome back, Master (L/n)." The (h/c) nodded. "Is the Commissioner Kamisato home yet?" The guard nodded. "Indeed. Sir Kamisato got back few hours ago. He's already awaiting your arrival, Master (L/n)." They nodded. "I see. Thank you for the information." "Just doing my job, master." Thoma noticed (Y/n) and immediately rushed towards the kitsune. "Master (L/n), you have arrived. Please follow me inside." They both went into the estate, greeted by Ayato. "Thank you for the assistance, Thoma. You may leave." Thoma bowed before leaving the two men and came back with a teapot and two cups. "Master (L/n), I hope you're doing well. Is there something you'd like to know?" (Y/n) just starred at the cup blankly before sipping it and put it aside. Then, he put his head on the table and let out a soft sigh. "Ayato..." He looked up to Ayato and closed his eyes, head still on the table. "I'm tired." Ayato just chuckled softly, patting his master's head. "Then you have to take enough rest before the meeting. You don't have anything planned after the meeting, do you? Just come over to rest properly." Ayato stopped patting (Y/n) but before he could withdraw his hand the kitsune bit his finger. "Ow!" "Oh, sorry I did that out of habit. Does it hurt that much?" Ayato shrugged. "Not really. It surprised me. Do you perhaps.. need more patting? Just come over to this side then." The kitsune crawled to Ayato's side, he couldn't help but to put his back hand on (Y/n)'s forehead. "Oh, you are burning. Let me get you to your room." Ayato carried him to (Y/n)'s room and tucked him into the bed. "There, let me get some cold water and a towel real qui-" The (h/c) grabbed Ayato's wrist. "Can't you stay? You don't have to do that, I'm fine. I just need you." Ayato looked at him with a worried face. "Sure but I have to at least have Thoma to deliver the cold water. We can't have you sick during the meeting now can we? Let me ask Thoma real quick." The kitsune nodded. Ayato went to the door and called Thoma. He told Thoma about the cold water and the male went to the kitchen before coming with a bowl of cold water and a towel. Ayato thanked him and closed the door. "Here, the water is quite cold but pay no attention to it, just focus on me. Will that be okay?" (Y/n) nodded nervously before closing their eyes as Ayato soaked the towel with cold water and rinsed it before putting it carefully on (Y/n)'s forehead. "!!!" He flinched, his grip on Ayato's clothes tightened. The (h/c) can't handle cold water very well since he had fallen into a very cold water during winter when playing chase with kitsune saiguu, causing him to be very sensitive to the cold water and got traumatized. Ayato of course, knew that and tried to calm them down."It's going to be alright. Look at me, I'm here for you. You're safe." (Y/n) slowly opened their teary eyes and looked at Ayato's worried face. "Ayato.." "Yes?" "How did I ended up being in your care when I'm the one who raised you?" Ayato smiled, patting him gently. "Same goes with parents. Someday those who takes care will be the one who are being taken care of. Either they are unable to do things due to aging or it's just that they are tired and stressed, so they tend to seek others for their love and affections. As for you master, you are very tired from working and having past traumas still traumatizing you. You just need some rest and you'll be fine. And now it's my turn to return the favour." (Y/n) was shocked to hear such honest words and smiled softly. The (h/c) closed their eyes. "Thank you.. for existing, Kamisato Ayato." With that, the kitsune fell into a deep sleep. Ayato couldn't help but to join in. They slept until Thoma woke them up because it's almost time for them to go for the meeting.
