My body feels heavy as my eyes snap open

My body feels heavy as my eyes snap open. The room is dark except for the light streaming through a window. I stretch my arm attempting to grab Kane, but my hand only grasps empty air.

Where is Kane?

I roll over onto my stomach, groaning into my pillow. The creaking of a door caught my attention. I roll over on my back before leaning against the headboard.

"Good morning, beautiful." I look up, as my heart skips a beat when I see him standing there, wearing a towel around his waist. " Someone is a morning bird," I say, looking at him up and down.

God, I've missed seeing him.

"I missed you when I woke up, and you weren't in bed with me," I say, watching him walk over to the bed.

"I'm sorry, ангел" He whispers. I look up at his sympathetic face, smiling at him. He smiles back at me before leaning down and kissing me lightly before standing up and walking out of the room.

First, he leaves me alone in bed, then kisses and leaves. I don't think I'm going to make it at this rate.

Groaning, I hop out of bed grabbing the discarded shirt off the floor and tossing it on.

I grab my phone off the nightstand before making my way downstairs.

"I'm making breakfast," Kane says, watching me walk into the kitchen.

His arms stretch out above his head, his muscles bulging. I can't help but stare.

"I can feel you staring," Kane says, turning around to face me. I chuckle, walking closer to him. His eyes trail down my body. "You look so good in my shirt," he whispers, grabbing me by my waist and pulling me closer.

Our lips meet. It's a slow kiss but still passionate.

I think I might be in heaven right now.

Soon, our tongues intertwine with each other as we explore each other's mouths. My hands run up and down his muscular chest. He groans into our kiss, pulling me closer.

"Wow! You guys need to get a room," I hear a familiar voice say. We pull away from each other, staring at the voice's origin.

It's Christian Kane's brother.

"Fucking cockblock," I hear Kane mutter under his breath. "What are you doing here?" Kane asks, glaring at Christian

"I had to grab some stuff. It is our house, after all," He retorts, keeping his eyes on me.

The tension in the air is thick. "I just thought I'd drop by." Christian continues. My head slowly turns toward Kane. I take notice of how he seems so angry at Christian.

I gently squeeze his hand. That calms him enough for him to speak again. "Grab your stuff. I'm going to be back," he mutters, marching towards Killian, stopping once he reaches his ear.

He leans in, whispering something before walking away

What did he say to Christian?

Christian turns his attention back to me. "Hey, Rena," He says, walking towards me.

"I think it's time I left," I mumble, placing down my glass of water.

"Why are you leaving so soon, Raven?" Christian asks.

" What did you just call me?" I mutter. " Raven...that's your name, isn't it?" he asks, a smug expression plastered to his face.

" My name is Rena," I whisper, my heart racing. Christian stares at me for a second, sighing before stepping towards me.

"No, your name is Raven Zorbide. I mean, it was 300 years ago. I checked you change your name every ten years." He states. I take a step back, my heart sinking. Christian smirks, his eyes twinkling with amusement. " Are you crazy?" I whisper. "No, I'm not crazy. I'm just telling the truth." Christian's smirk fades, and he steps closer to me, his eyes serious. " But how does my brother not know the truth yet?" he asks. I take a deep breath, trying to stay calm. "I lied to him. I pretended I had no idea who he was," I reply, my voice barely above a whisper. Christian steps back. He stares at me, his expression unreadable. " Why lie to him? I thought you loved him?"

"I do love him, but, in the past, I wanted to protect him. I believed the truth would've scared him. And now I'm afraid if he finds out the truth, he'll hate me because I left him," I explain, feeling the weight of my deception heavy on my shoulders. Christian's eyes soften as he nods in understanding.

" He still loves Raven. He still loves the person you're pretending you're not, but he also hates Raven," he says. I feel a pang of guilt at his words, realizing the depth of the situation. "I know I need to come clean, but I'm terrified of losing him," I admit softly. " Don't. Don't come clean. If you want him to stay, make him believe you're Rena and no one else."

" What?" I whisper.

" Didn't I tell you to leave?" Kane grits out, walking through a corridor. " My apologies Kane. I'll be leaving," Christian says, mockery lacing his tone. "Good," Kane replies coldly, disappearing around the corner. " Bye, Raven," Kane whispers, walking away.
