Scott's Perspective-

Scott sat down at the Ravenclaw table for breakfast.

Some other people were at their tables, but not many.

He loaded up his plate and minded his own business.

Just then, a boy sat down next to him.

The boy had black, fluffy hair, glasses, and book in hand.

He was mumbling to himself, looking nervous.

Finally, he said,

"Hi, I'm Tom." He stuck out his hand, smiling.

"Er- Scott."

They shook hands.

"I like your hair." Tom complimented.

"Thanks." Scott said awkwardly.

Tom then opened his book.

Scott was minding his own business when he felt someone tap his shoulder.

"Ah!" He gasped.

"Oop! Sorry Scott." The person laughed.

Scott blushed as he turned around and saw Jimmy sitting down at the Hufflepuff table, right behind Scott.

"You ready for today?"

Scott shrugged, "I guess; I'm really nervous though. I've never practiced with my wand."

"It's easy enough!" Jimmy smiled, making Scott go red, "It just takes some practice!"

Just then, someone cleared their throat.

Jimmy turned red from embarrassment and turned around to his table.

Scott turned around and saw Etho standing there.

"Scott, Tom, do you two have your schedules?" Etho asked.

The boys shook their heads.

"Here." Etho handed them each one.

"Thanks." Tom said while looking at his schedule.

"If you need help getting around, you can ask me which way to go." Etho smiled through his mask.

"Hey Etho!"

Etho turned around and he looked incredibly nervous.

A boy who looked to be in the same year as Etho came running towards him.

He wore a big smile, a gold, clock necklace, and a Gryffindor prefect badge.

"O-oh hey Bdubs! What are you doing- "

"Come on, you need to eat." 'Bdubs' grabbed Etho's hand.

"B-but we're prefects! We should be helping- "

"Come on. Please? It's the first day and I know you won't eat unless I tell you too."

Etho sighed and let Bdubs take him away.

"Hm. I wonder why he doesn't just take his mask off to eat with us." Tom observed.

"Maybe he's too nervous."

Tom shrugged and then grumbled,

"First class is potions. Dang it; I heard the potion teacher sucks."

"Really?" Scott asked, trying not to sound worried.

Tom nodded, "Apparently, he favors the Slytherins and hates basically every other house. Best to try not to set him off."

Scott's stomach started to cramp.

But not because he was hungry.

He had a bad feeling about the potions teacher.

-

Scott and Tom walked into the dungeon for Potions, which they shared with Hufflepuffs.

Well this is cheery.

Scott thought as he sat down near the back of the class with Tom.

They got out their cauldrons and Scott saw that all the cabinets were filled to the brim with ingredients.

As Scott got out his potions book, their teacher, Professor Snape, glided up to his desk.

He looked around and after a moments silence, he snarled,

"Why are you getting your cauldrons out? I don't remember telling anyone to do that. In fact, I remember only telling all of you to sit down."

The first years quivered down at his cold stare.

"All we are going to be doing today is taking notes." He said, watching as the class shuffled to grab out parchment, ink, and a quill.

One Hufflepuff who had brown, shoulder length hair, and a blue bow tapped Jimmy's shoulder and whispered something to him.

"Ms. Syfil will you please remind me when I told you to talk?"

The girl turned bright pink and slid down in her seat.

"Well?" Professor Snape demanded, "Why did you talk?"

"I just- a quill- don't have- "

"You're telling me that you came to class unprepared?" Snape said menacingly, "25 points from Hufflepuff. And I'll take away an extra 5 for talking in my class."

"Now." Professor Snape started pacing around the room.

"I expect no talking in my class while I am talking. I expect you to take detailed notes of everything I will be stating about potions. But today I will be asking you questions, seeing how much you know."

"Mr. Smajor!" He called out, making Scott jump.

"What is the cause of a Polyjuice potion?"

Scott's palms started sweating and his throat went dry.

A what?!

"Er- "

"Well? We don't have all day." Snape snapped.

Scott looked at Tom who looked as if he was trying to tell Scott the answer.

"Do not help him Mr. Robins."

Tom, embarrassed, looked down at the desk.

Scott, acting on nerves, decided to guess.

This was the wrong decision.

"Er- it can help you talk to animals?"

There was silence and then someone went,

"Pfft!" And they broke out in laughter.

Then the whole class started laughing.

Well, everyone but Tom, Jimmy, and the girl from earlier.

Finally, Snape held his hand up, making everyone fall silent.

"That was more than wrong. Did you even read the books?" Professor Snape walked up to Scott.

"I did- "

"Well clearly you didn't." Snape interrupted, "Well, Mr. Smajor, because of that I expect a three-page essay that will be handed in on Thursday about Polyjuice potions and what they do."

The whole class grumbled, and some people shot Scott dirty looks.

Scott felt like crying.

He thought being a wizard would be cool, but it's turning out to be worse than his old life.

I just want to go home.

Alright, alright, I'm sorry for using Tom so much but I'm too attached to him! This story will not be updated regularly as I do not really know where to go with it. If you have ideas, feel free to share them! I would love hear them. With that, thank you! And have a good day!
