Wilson sat Rose in a bus; he was in mid 40’s with rough stubble, glasses on his pinched nose. He looked like a typical middle class man.

Rose was still crying her heart out, all her years she never lived a day away from her gramps. She was so attached to her and so was her gramps. She didn’t understand why she was being sent away. Was it because she did something wrong may be she should apologize for hurting Kenny and they would take her back. She thought.

Wilson smiled lightly and Rose eyed him as if he was mad.

"I’m sorry… they are not trying to punish you for something you didn’t do. They just wanted you to do which is good for you…" He said.

Rose nodded and was lost in her thoughts again, painting names on the foggy window.

"Hey…Wait a second. How did you know what I was thinking?" She asked accusingly.

"I read your thoughts…" He said in a matter of fact tone.

"As simple as that…?" Rose queried.

"As simple as that…" He laughed.

He decided to enlighten the girl with some knowledge of what was going to happen in the next few years of life.

"The school that you were being sent to is called Saviors academy. It’s a school where people like you and me are trained to learn control of their powers…That thing that you did with Kenny was you assessing your hidden power. If you don’t try to tame it or keep it bottled it may either kill you or some other person…"

This all seemed really serious stuff to Rose, yet she didn’t understand a word of what he said. He heard these kind of stories from the twins; gifted children being trained for a greater cause. She thought like many other people that these were urban legends.

"Why wasn’t I told about this before?" Rose asked.

"It’s in human nature to be scared of what they don’t understand…" He said in a simple sentence that seemed to answer her query yet not.

Rose opened her mouth to ask something else when Wilson stood up gathering the bags.

They got down in a dark street where nothing moved. Wilson carefully checked all his surroundings and he stood rigid and his ears pricked at every small sound. Rose noticed his sudden odd behavior. She was about to say something when they heard a ‘Meow’

Wilson flashed his light towards the thing grabbing his cane in his hand ready to pounce on whatever it is.

Rose ran as soon as she saw who it was. She scooped the fluffy cat into her hands and petted it affectionately. The kitty purred in her warm hands.

"Relax, it’s just my cat." Rose said to a nervous looking Wilson.

"How did it come all the way here…?" he asked eying it suspiciously.

"It always does that… It follows me everywhere." Rose stated proudly.

"It’s been with me since forever…" she smiled cooing her kitty.

"What’s her name?" he asked relaxing a wee bit.

"Kitty…" Wilson petted it and it purred happily.

"Are we going to stay here for the night?" Rose asked after a while. The night was freezing and Wilson showed no signs of moving.

"The bus will be here in a few minutes…"
