The car journey across town was strangely silent, and now and then I would get a glimpse of Jacob just to hastily turn away. Slowly swished my tail as it hung from the car seat. "We're almost there; once we arrive, we'll get you comfortable," Jacob stated. Flicking my ear in answer, I buried my chin in my arm and fell asleep slowly.
It didn't take long for me to be gently shaken awake. I yawned, rubbing the sleep from my eyes, and took a careful look around. We were parked on a long driveway in front of a large, opulent home. The dark masonry and wide windows made the house appear much larger than it was.
I didn't know I'd let out a whimper until Jacob moved over and softly rubbed my ear. "It's fine, it just seems terrifying because it's late at night. You'll feel better once you go inside." Jacob comforted me. I wrenched my head away from Jacob's grip, huffing gently. I waited for him to open the door before climbing over Jacob's lap and sprinting into the bushes. Jacob sighed and grabbed the pet supplies before slamming the door closed with his hip, and walking up the wooden staircase. Jacob unlocked the door and turned his gaze to the bushes after placing the items on the porch. "I'll keep the door open for you if you change your mind." Before stepping inside, Jacob called.
I curled up and sighed gently as I watched the elderly man enter inside. I could go right now; there was nothing keeping Jet from fleeing and returning to the city. But then Jet would be forced to confront the reason he was apprehended in the first place: stealing to survive. So far, the human male hasn't done anything he shouldn't have, and he's been nothing but polite to Jet... So far, so good. Jet was used to being lied to, and he was also used to being spoiled. However, after being sold off so many times, Jet's perception of humans began to deteriorate. Jet waited a few minutes longer before coming out from beneath the bushes, dusting the dirt and leaves off his loose shirt. Then he began plodding gingerly approaching the door, peering through the cracked door but not seeing the elder man.
Pushing the door open slowly, flinching when it creaked loudly. The entry hall was long and branched off into smaller halls that lead to rooms Jet was too scared to enter. Jet entered the living room after walking down the long corridor, scrutinizing the fairly small space. Jet stepped further into the room, stumbling down the little staircase, and ran a palm over the enormous L-couch. Jet climbed onto the couch, purring quietly from the softness, and took a moment to notice the mixture of aromas circling the house. Something delicious was emanating from the kitchen, he assumed, and Jacob's cologne seemed to fill the house.
"Oh, you did decide to come inside; I was afraid you'd be out there all night," Jacob replied as he entered the living room to dry his hands. "If you're hungry, I made some food for you. But based on how your stomach was growling in the car, I'm sure you are." He continued, tossing the towel over his shoulder.
Shrugging I followed Jacob into the kitchen and climbed onto the bench. Jacob vanished behind a wide wall that divided the kitchen in half. They reappeared with a large platter, placed it on the table, and then sat down. As my mouth began to moisten, I looked down at the various foods, chewing the inside of my cheek. My stomach grumbled as a result of the various smells.
"Go ahead little one." Jacob encouraged me.
We exchanged stares for a few moments before Jacob grabbed up the fork, stabbed the food, and held it up to my lips. I stared at the fork for a moment before opening my mouth and chewing. My stomach growled gleefully as I seized the fork from Jacob, and I bit back a moan as numerous flavors exploded in my mouth. I started shoveling more food into my mouth while purring loudly.
"Hey slow down! You don't want to choke." Jacob shouted.
This continued until I finished two plates, at which point I leaned back on the bench and let out a short whine while stroking my expanded tummy. My once-slack slacks and blouse clung to the little mound of flesh. "Aww, did you overeat?" Jacob teased, tenderly caressing my stomach.
My tail beat on the bench next to me, and I purred loudly. "It's bath time." Jacob made a surprising announcement. My ears perked up instantly, and I shoved Jacob's hand away from my stomach before sprinting out of the room.
"Hey! "No, Jet!" Jacob yelled as he stood up and chased after me. Jacob exhaled deeply, letting out a little sigh. He searched for approximately an hour, slowly inspecting each room throughout the home, before finally exhaling loudly and trudging back into the living room, where he sat down on the couch, spotting my tail peeking out from underneath. He rolled his eyes, smirking.
"I'm sorry Jet isn't here; I was planning to give him some ice cream after his bath," Jacob called, his head resting on his hand. "I guess I'll have to enjoy this bowl of ice cream solo now that he's gone." He continued.
He saw my tail slowly slink beneath the couch, and when I peeked my head out. "Ice cream?" I asked, my head cocked to the side.
"Yeah, don't tell me you never had it before." Jacob snorted.
"Once, but I don't remember it very well," I answered honestly.
"Well, maybe if you come out, I'll give you some." Jacob offered.
I curl my nose up in disgust, laying my ears back against my head. I hurriedly drew my head back behind the couch, bouncing the thought around in my head. As Jet previously stated, the human has done nothing wrong; he gives excellent food, and Jet admits he enjoyed having his stomach full after being starved for so long. Jet wanted everything to be fine, but half of him couldn't help but assume it was a ruse; he's used to abuse and abandonment. He'd play this out to see how long it would take Jacob to return him; he began this game after the third master, and his longest recorded period was a month and six days. Crawling from the couch, I let Jacob take me up and carry me up the stairs to yet another opulent decor. He sat me down beside the door and leaned against the wall, growling slightly as he drew the bathwater. After a few minutes, Jacob turned and picked me up again, this time methodically removing my garments. He was shocked to realize how tiny I was.
"You're such a small thing, aren't you?" "Don't worry about that little one, we'll change that soon enough," Jacob said as he lowered me into the tub.
