Jet's heart was pounding against his chest, and his hard breathing echoed throughout the space. When his legs burned and icy tears streamed down his pale face, the Neko kept running, rejecting his brain's pleas to turn back. Part of him knew Jacob wouldn't be able to give up his life for the younger male, but the naive side of him craved that romantic movie moment where the lovers triumph over all circumstances. Heaving heavily, the Neko eventually began to decelerate. Jet struck the tree next to him, letting out a snarl as hot blood coated his pale fingers. Jet dropped his head to his knees as he slid down the tree, weeping.
Jet sobbed for what felt like hours before something gently tapped his leg. The younger male slowly looked up, meeting a pair of old gray eyes. "Are you okay sweetie?" They asked.
Jet quickly wiped the tears away from his face, "Yes ma'am." He lied.
Jet inspected her for a few minutes while the older woman slid down next to him. The elderly lady had ash-gray, blonde hair, and her tanned face was covered in little white scars that extended down to her hands. She placed her black staff next to her, the huge red orb on top gleaming in the moonlight. "Why don't you tell Mama Trudy the truth, dear? What's the matter?" She probed once more.
"I got in a fight with my human..." He started.
"I was wondering what a Neko like yourself was doing in these woods. What was the fight about?" Mama Trudy questioned softly.
"It was his coordination party, while he was talking with the guests I met a female Neko. We were talking before she had to leave with her human. When I told him about her, he freaked out and started yelling at me." Jet explained.
"Who did the Neko belong to?" Trudy asked.
"Chloe belonged to his brother, whenever I would bring up the subject of his brother my human would always tell me to forget about it. So after the party and we got home, I ran away and went to his brother to get answers." Jet said.
"Did you get what you were after?" The older woman asked.
"Yes, but I was told that he wouldn't be able to be with me because of his job...." The younger male trailed off.
"Oh, I see." She hummed softly while smiling. "Listen, it doesn't matter what his work is or what others say. The point is, he selected you; I'm not sure who your human is, but I have a feeling he'd move mountains for you." She spoke.
"But what if he has to choose?" Jet asked.
"Are you worried he'd choose his job over you?" The woman asked.
"Yes, it's happened before. I get too comfortable and then I'm tossed to the side." Jet explained.
Trudy nodded her head and was silent for a long moment before opening her mouth to speak. "Has he done anything to make you think he'd abandon you?" The older women quizzed.
"No, I guess not." The younger male whispered putting his hands on his stomach.
Trudy let out a small chuckle, "Exactly, from the look of it you're pretty well taken care of." She stated.
"Thank you..." Jet whispered, standing.
"Anytime sweetie, remember that just because some humans are bad doesn't mean all of them are." She reminded him.
Jet didn't waste time walking back toward the castle, as he drew closer to the garden he could hear shouting. Jacob had his brother by the shirt shaking him, the younger male couldn't help but smile as he slowly walked closer. Jacob opened his mouth to shout something when he pushed Alphonso away and rushed toward Jet scooping him up in a hug. "Are you okay? I couldn't find you anywhere!" He shouted.
"I-I-I'm okay." Jet stammered.
"You scared me! Why did you think running away was an innovative idea!? I was worried sick about you." Jacob scolded.
"I wanted to know the truth..." the younger male responded.
"It doesn't matter anymore, I'm so glad you're okay Jet." The older male sighed, burying his face into Neko's shoulder.
"I-I-'m sorry, I didn't mean to upset you." He whimpered feeling the other's body shake.
"You could never upset me, my love," Jacob whispered, tangling his fingers in the younger male's hair.
"Can we get food now? I'm hungry." Jet commented, causing the other to laugh.
"You can have whatever you want," Jacob replied, "Thank you for taking care of Jet..." Jacob stated.
"I know how much he means to you Jake, I wouldn't do anything to take him from you." Alphonso chuckled.
Jacob nodded, walking back toward the car. "Where do you want to go?" The older male asked.
"I don't care, I'm just hungry," Jet said with a shrug.
Jacob nodded and started driving before he pulled into a drive-through. The older male ordered then found a parking spot before setting the bag on Neko's lap. "Aren't you going to eat?" The younger male quizzed.
"Nah, not hungry." The human lay with a thin smile. The older male watched as Jet devoured the fries first, before moving on to the first burger. The Neko's stomach growled loudly, as Jacob gently rubbed it.
"Would you choose me if you had to?" Jet suddenly asked, causing the older male to pause.
"What are you talking about?" He questioned.
"Alphonso told me that because you're royal that you'd have to choose a human to have heirs. So, we couldn't be together, I'd just be your side candy." The other explained.
"My brother is stupid, yes, it's required for the royal bloodline to continue with hires. But I don't want to be with another human Jet, I want to be with you." Jacob explained. "Do you think I would feed you so much if I didn't?" He added.
"I guess not. But do you want to be with a fat Neko?" Jet asked with a mouthful of food.
The older male chuckled, "Yes, I want to be with a fat Neko who melts at their master's touch. I want to make you bigger Jet, I want to make you the only thing in the world that matters to me." Jacob stated.
"Bigger?" The Neko questioned, glancing down at his stomach.
"Is that alright?" The other asked.
"Yes," Jet responded.
The Neko didn't have to be asked twice if he wanted to continue. Jet had come to appreciate the increased weight and wanted to keep becoming bigger not just for Jacob but for himself; this was the first time in the younger male's life he'd ever been fed this much. Jet yearned to be the fat house cat he'd grown into. Being the human's lover was a consolation prize Jet would do everything to preserve. Jet quickly finished the rest of the meal, burping loudly as he patted his stomach watching it jiggle slightly.
"I'm still hungry." He started with a large grin.
"Where do you want to go?" The older male asked.
"Some desert would be nice." The younger male replied.
"The bakery it is." Jacob chuckled starting the car once more and started driving.
