Jet awoke with a start, gently turning around to see himself in a big bedroom with two grand windows facing a large garden. "Oh my God, you're awake! I began to get concerned." From the doorway, a female voice remarked. Jet shifted his focus to the door, meeting Chloe's stare.
"W-Where am I?" Jet asked.
"Lord Alphonso brought you to his house, you were badly injured." She informed him, walking further into the room and setting the tray down on the bed.
"Does Jacob know I'm here?" Jet asked.
"Lord Alphonso hasn't called him yet, he thought you two should talk before he did." She replied. "I heard you two fought, are you okay?" She asked, setting a hand on his.
"He's never yelled at me like that before, he was so angry that I talked to you. I don't understand why they hate each other." Jet whispered, feeling the tears prick the corners of his eyes.
Chloe went to open her mouth when a knock came from the door. "How's our little patient?" Alphonso asked, walking into the room.
"He just woke up sir, I haven't had time to look over his injuries," Chloe answered.
"We can tend to that later, why don't you give me and Jet some time alone." He said placing a hand on Chloe's head. The female Neko purred softly, her tail swishing happily, as she nodded. Once gone, Alphonso turned his attention to me, "Why were you out in the city without my brother?" He quizzed.
"We got into a fight..." Jet replied.
"I heard; Jacob tends to overreact sometimes." The older male sighed.
"You said you'd answer any questions I had; I want to know why he hates you so much." Jet demanded.
"Straight to the juicy part, eh, well. I suppose it began when we were younger. Jacob was always a little tense. When he was agitated, our parents had a challenging time settling him down. Yet as we grew older, our perspectives about Nekos shifted; he found them intriguing and wanted to adopt them. Of course, father despised the notion, and since I was desperate for our father's attention, I agreed." Alphonso elaborated.
'But you have Chloe..." Jet trailed off.
"Yes, like you I found her on the streets. She used to hate me too, scratched and hissed at me whenever I tried to get close. But after we bonded, I too would have done anything to protect her. I saw what my brother saw in Nekos, but he doesn't believe me." The other continued.
"Is that why you were at the party?" Jet asked.
"Yes, but I also wanted to congratulate my brother. He was the only one in our family to prove our father wrong." Alphonso chuckled gently tapping Jet's nose.
"I will admit, I didn't suspect my brother to be a chubby chaser. But then again, he was always into bigger people." Alphonso shrugged.
"Chubby chaser?" The younger Neko parroted back.
"It's someone who likes bigger males and wants them to get bigger." He explained simply. "Them feeding their partners is a way to show their love." He added. Jet's cheeks darkened at the thought, earning a chuckle from the other male. "Why don't you spend the night, then I'll take you home. Chloe threw your clothes in the wash." Alphonso said standing.
"Aren't you worried about Jacob being mad?" Jet asked.
The older male shrugged, "I have had my brother mad at me all my life, what's one more night?" He countered.
"I don't want to cause more trouble..." Jet muttered, eyes falling to his lap.
Alphonso's expression softened, placing a hand on Jet's head, and then started gently massaging his ear. "You aren't, I'm asking you to stay." He smiled.
