𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐝𝐚𝐲 came at the speed of light for Gon, right now he's desperately trying to brainstorm a good idea for getting out of his room without being caught in the act. "What to do, what to do..." he muttered aloud. Glancing around his room, he tried to find the perfect escape plan. Stopping at the window, his brain concluded that this was the best course of action. Quickly putting his ear to the door he patiently waited for any signs of someone coming. Confirming there wasn't he rushed over to the window and opened it, however, just as he was about to climb out-

*Knock Knock*

"Gon? May I come in?" It was Bisky, but what was she doing here? In a panic, Gon rushed to lay on his bed so as to not seem out of place, tripping on the way too.

"Come in!"

Bisky opened the door and immediately knew Gon was in a state of panic. She smiled before making her way to his bed. Sitting down besides him, she placed a hand on his head as she muttered the words, "Go to him." Gon's face was now devoid of all panic, pure happiness being its replacement. He jumped into her arms and repeated thank you countless times. He made his way to the window before looking back at Bisky. "I'll cover for you," she said as she held a thumbs up. Hopping out the window Gon encountered another challenge...the wall.

"DANG IT!!!"

Meanwhile, Killua was currently in the town searching for Gon. Making his way through the alleyways and buildings he hoped to catch any signs of the young prince. Being nowhere in sight he postponed the searching so he could subdue the hunger he had. Surveying the area where the majority of food was being sold, he decided to go with the stand selling parfaits. As he crept around he couldn't help but eavesdrop on a certain conversation. Hearing the key word 'prince' was enough to encourage him to come to a stop. "Have you seen the prince?" a girl asked her friend.

"I have, isn't he just the cutest?!"

"Right?! I honestly don't know why he's around that awful young boy, he's too good for a no good brat like him."

"Me neither, he probably doesn't even like him, he's just too generous and probably wants to show everyone that he is."

"That totally makes sense! It is a prince's duty to be kind to everyone in his kingdom, whether he likes them or not." Killua was shocked, was what they were saying true? The facts seem to add up, the flowers, the promise, the food, the...--- Killua didn't even feel the tears form in his eyes as he clutched his hand in anger. 'No wonder why he didn't come today...UGH, HOW COULD I BE SO STUPID?! All he ever wanted was to improve his image, he never really cared for me did he?' Making his way back to his home he couldn't stop the endless tears. Halfway throughout the walk---he broke, kneeling down he embraced himself in a hug, the feeling of abandonment gnawing at his heart. Gon had been the first person to show him what true kindness and friendship felt like, now he was all alone...𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧.

At the wall, Gon had finally found a way to get over it. Noticing that he took longer than expected he sprinted to look for Killua. He knew he would have to explain how he was not permitted to go out but he didn't obey because he wanted to see him. Searching the village, he found nothing. He tried asking Kurapika and Leorio, but they didn't know either.

Coming to a halt, Gon began thinking for a moment. Suddenly, memories of Killua's treehouse flashed in his brain. He slaps one hand with his fist, "Maybe he's there!" Immediately heading into the woods, Gon tries his best to remember the path they took. A few moments later, he successfully finds the treehouse. He was eager to see Killua and prayed that he was there. "KILLUA!" Gon called out, excitement in his voice.

"Go away Gon." Gon was shocked at the tone of Killua's voice, did he do something wrong?

"Killua? Is something wrong, did I do something wrong? Are you okay?" Worriedness laced his voice as he spoke.

"Stop pretending you want to be here, you're a fake and a liar."

"What..?" Gon felt his shoulders drop. The tone of his words filled with sorrow and confusion. "I-I don't understand, what do you mean I'm a liar?"

"Don't act like you actually care about me. You're a prince, you're only nice to me because it's something you have to do. Now could you please go away? I don't ever want to see you again." Gon felt his heart shatter from Killua's words, however, he refused to give up despite the tears in his eyes threatening to come down any second.

"That's not true Killua. I'm not nice to you because it's my duty as a prince, that's nowhere near close to why I want to hang out with you. I adore the time we spend together, every second of it. I care about-"

"Stop."

"But I do-"

"I SAID STOP! STOP SAYING YOU CARE ABOUT ME, YOU KNOW NO ONE DOES! No one ever did. You don't know anything about me so please, just leave."

"If I didn't care about you, why would I keep coming back to see you? I care for you as a friend, not a subject."

"Why do you keep coming back? I have no family, no one to love or care about me, I'm just a thief and that's all I'll ever be..."

"Just because you were a thief doesn't mean you'll have to hold that title forever. You only stole because you needed to, to survive. You can change Killua, you're an amazing person under what everyone says about you. No one ever told you that because you didn't have anyone, but you have me now. I can't even describe how much joy I feel when I'm around you. You are fantastic Killua. You're my best friend!"

Killua stood up from his bed, a face of disbelief in replace of heartbreak and betrayal. He brought his hands up to wipe away the tears he knew were still in his eyes. Looking down at Gon, he threw the ladder across the edge and made his way down. Halfway through the climb, Killua jumped from his position and opened his arms, seeming to want a hug from the boy below. Tackling Gon onto the floor, Gon let out a heartful laugh as he squeezed Killua as hard as he could. "Do you really mean that? You're really going to be here for me?"

"Of course," Gon says as his eyes soften.

"I'm sorry about everything I said to you. I really didn't mean it, I just heard these girls and I couldn't help but-"

"Killua, it's okay. You don't have to explain yourself." Taking him in another hug, the two enjoy each other's presence and company. The gloomy atmosphere now long gone. In its place, a tranquil and quiet feeling.
