"Trespasser? Well, it'll have to wait! First, we must find the Beast! We're going to smite that ferocious mongrel and present its body to His Majesty!"

"Whoa, something doesn't smell right! The Beast killed those soldiers yesterday. We saw it, remember?" Dante gasped, bewildered by the sight of the supposedly dead cluster of soldiers.

"What just happen?" You asked, confusingly. "Did we go back in time?"

"I can guess. And I know the malnomen, too. This is a time loop. We've been trapped inside an enclosed world dreamed up by a curse-bearer." Vanitas stated.

"I'll find you." Jeanne's eyes glowed a crimson hue before she propelled herself upwards with her crimson gauntlet, Carpe Diem. So lost in thought, the bourreau hadn't noticed the human on her back.

Vanitas grinned and grab your waist and hold you closer to him, hoping on atop of Jeanne's back.

"Look at you go! This thing comes in handy, non?" Vanitas smug expression spread across his face.

"What?! Vanitas?!"

"What?! Vanitas?!"

"Now, let us descend upon the castle, tout suite!" Vanitas demanded.

"Have your lost your mind? Get off me! I'm going down there to slay that monster!" Jeanne ordered.

"No, you're not, because I'm saving the curse-bearer." Vanitas corrected.

"I ALREADY re-PAID MY DEBT TO YOUR SO-NOT-CALLED BRIDE (Y/N)! SO LEAVE ME ALONE-"

"Tell me, Jeanne, is this what you want?" he asked.

"It's my job. I have to. Besides, I refuse to create any further trouble for Lord Ruthven and Master Luca, and that's the end of it!"

Grabbing ahold of his collar, Jeanne flung him towards the castle. With an unbothered smile, Vanitas called out, "(Y/n), catch me!"

You dived after him, considering you also wanted to help him save the curse-bearer. You didn't at all want to kill it. If you could save it, you would.

You caught him mid-air and use your purple flames and  landed gracefully on top of one of the castle towers, you arms wrap around his chest supporting his back closely.

He nuzzled into your neck, breath fanning over your skin as he spoke, "Ah~ what would I do without you My Luv?"

You leaned away from his touch and he made a sound of displeasure at the action. "Vanitas, please focus at the matter at hand." you reminded.

He waved his hand dismissively, "Help Noé and save the curse-bearer, I remember."

Then he grasp you hand in his to follow him. "All right. Time to see where that fool ended up."
