"Bring forth existence."
She pushed down one final key and the moment she did, Naenia was bound in chains and forced to take on a bodily form.
The scream causing both you and Vanitas to cover your ears.
"What did she do?!" you panic.
"She's using the Alteration Engine to generate a physical form for Naenia!" Vanitas explained to you.
"Then those screams..." you paused.
"I've wrestled with this dilemma for such a long time. I searched for a means to end this eternal nightmare. For some way to lay my hands upon this ethereal thing. Finally.... Now I will be able to slay you." Chloé grasping Naenia's cheek into her hands with a smile spread across her face.
"My father told me something before he died. He said, "Those born into nobility are honour-bound to protect their fief's people. And the d'Apchier family is proud to do so".
" Which is why, no matter how they mistreat me or how desperately I wish to kill them, I can't possibly hate the people of the d'Apchier fiefdom! No, I love them! It's the sworn duty of every d'Apchier! I can forgive what they've done, but I can't give you the same grace, for you dared to lay your filthy hands upon my one and only. You stole Jean-Jacques' true name. And for that, you will pay. After all. I warned you before that I'm a terribly jealous woman." Chloé now, strangling Naenia chocking it to death.
The more Chloé spoke, the more respect you gained for her. The self-control she possessed to not massacre all who had wronged her is an attribute you wished you also had.
Chloé's devotion and loyalty to her people despite everything, You wanted that, you couldn't understand it but you longed for it, craved it. Perhaps if you had known that type of fidelity and dedication, someone you could trust without fearing betrayal, then maybe the chains of guilt wouldn't weigh you down so heavily.
Vanitas felt his heart constrict at the look bordering between pain and envy swirling in you. He couldn't read minds, but he understood you and how alone you must have felt throughout the years without Zero, not knowing who to trust and just barely surviving.
Vanitas wanted nothing more than to hold you, but it had to wait until after the mission was complete.
Both you and Vanitas were then suddenly swatted away by the large automaton which sent him and you crashing into one of the many large bookshelves.
"Vanitas! (Y/n)! Are you two all right? Hey! What is that thing? Naenia?" Noé asked aloud.
"You're harder to kill than I imagined you'd be." Chloé said, strangling Naenia even more. The shadow screams.
"What's wrong? It hurts? Good, I want you to feel every last bit of my rage." adding more pain went onto Chloé as she continued to harm the shadow.
"No, don't." Vanitas muttered.
"Vanitas!" Noé said.
"Chloé please! Stop!" You called out.
"You mustn't provoke her any further!" Vanitas huskily says.
"Oh, the pain! It's excruciating! It hurts, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts!" Naenia cried out.
"Release her from that bodily form! Do it right now! You mustn't let Naenia know who she really is! You will not be able to kill her!" Vanitas pleaded but to no avail, the grey-eyed vampire was too overcome by anger to heed his warnings.
From nowhere, a bright light emitted from the center of the room, suddenly revealing a lady with blonde hair and auburn eyes.
The machine in the middle of the room began glowing red before the whole room started to glow that same ominous red. Whatever it was, it caused both you and Noé to drop down to your knees.
