"Grade 11! The school board has finally decided, and due to some request, you all have to take a course of dance as your elective." The school headmaster said over the loud speakers. I grimaced. Being part of one of the most prestigious boarding schools in California, all of the students had to take a mandatory elective, that was voted on and chosen for each grade every year. My grade, the year 11s, were the last electives to be announced. I walked to the ballroom, very reluctantly. My goal was to get a 4.0 GPA this year, considering I had a 3.9 last year. My grade dropped because of chemistry. Way worse than dancing, but dancing was still, really bad. It had nothing to do with the sport, just the fact that I lack skill in every aspect of it. I walked into the studio to find my whole entire friend group gathered in a circle, talking.

"Sophie! Over here!" Biana called, peeking her head out of the circle. I walked over there to see what was going on. I looked around to find Biana, Marella, Linh, Maruca, and Stina huddled together, looking at a magazine cover.

"Okay, you probably wont care Soph, since you've got Keefe -your boyfriend- and all, but were looking at this really hot guy who's apparently coming down over here to San Diego for a concert." Biana said, swooning over the guy on the cover.

"His names "Gabriel Garret"" Stina said, excitedly.

"Even his nose looks sexy. Not to mention those shoulders." Maruca said, pretending to faint.

"Okay, I don't get how y'all are swooning over him when she's right here." Marella said, giving Linh a quick kiss.

"Oh, save your lesbianism for the hall." Stina said. As Linh and Marella walked away.

"Save your homophobia for the hall, Stina!" Linh called out as they walked off.

"Yeah...not interested. Sorry." I said, and walked backwards awkwardly. I swore I could've heard Stina grumble something like, Not fair she gets the cute boy or something. Speaking of which, the boys started walking through the door. I could make out Fitz, Dex, Tam, and, of course, Keefe. And while I could just barely make him out, it was hard not to notice the incredibly styled hair in the back. A while back, when we were all year 9s, Keefe had had a growth spurt, and now he was taller than Tam, Dex, and Fitz. It had gotten quite annoying every time I had to go on my toes to hug or kiss him.

"Hey you." Keefe said to me, leaning down and giving me a peck on the lips. He was wearing a black button down shirt with his sleeves rolled up to his forearms, where I could see he'd been working out.

"Hey." I said, smiling and happy to see him.

"Ready to break all your bones?" Dex said jokingly

"Just about ready." I said back, laughing a little. Though he had still grown a lot, it was much easier to go up and hug my best friend; my first kiss back in 6th grade. I then felt strong arms wrap around me from behind and pull me away from Dex.

"Sorry bro. She's mine now. You snooze you loose." Keefe said to Dex. Dex gave him a sarcastic pout as he walked away.

"Keefe. You know I'm allowed to converse with my friends." I said, frowning. I tried to get out of his strong grip around me, but it was useless. Though even I had been working out lately, Keefe was, well, pretty buff.

"But I just want you all to myself!" Keefe whined as he spun me around.

"Keefe! Put me down!" I laughed as he finally slowed and let go of me. Although I couldn't help wanting his arms back around me. Luckily, we didn't cause a scene, because pretty much all the year 11s had crowded into the ballroom.

"Alright! Everyone find a partner to dance with!" The teacher said from her stool across the room. She explained that we were going to do a simple slow dance. Just swaying. Nothing special. I, of course, chose Keefe as my partner. As did he gladly. We were supposed to hold hands and sway to the music. Then, if we wanted to, we could spruce it up a bit. Key word; Then. But of course, Keefe put both hands on my waist, and put my hands on his neck.
