Birds are chirping and I crouch down to be hidden from my prey in some tall grass near a bush. The grey rabbit doesn't seem to notice I'm there yet, which is a great advantage. I crawl towards it.

Closer...

Closer...

Just a little bit more...

I pounce clamping my jaws on the rabbit's neck before it can escape.

Yes! I think to myself.

I trot off to my spot in the forest. I like to call it my secret spot. It's an opening you have to get through by going through a small entrance, it's small enough to fit a foxes body. There's berry bushes, a small stream with a mini waterfall, and some tree shade. For me it's just...paradise!

You all don't really know me so let me explain the basics. I'm a fox shifter. I change from human, to fox. I can also go in between the 2 with my human body having ears and a tail, but I like to stay in the form of a fox.

My real name is Delilah Parker and I'm just about 17, but I think my birthday's this coming week.

I keep up with time, just not as well as I should. ( •~•)

I'm suppose to have this other half called my mate, but I don't really care. I've lived on my own for years and I like the lifestyle.

Unexpectedly I feel...uneasy. I don't know why, so I automatically think I'm being watched upon as prey. Once I realize I'm not, that fuels my curiosity even more.

Delilah, I want to meet our mate! My Fox Spirit Raine shouts anxiously.

Ooh, now that explains my feeling. I think to myself.

You wouldn't believe how shocked I am to hear from Raine, we haven't spoken in a while. Around 6...maybe 7 years.

I just lay on the soft moss tuffed grass, as I eat my well earned lunch. The anxious feeling is soon switching in between the emotions of excitement and nervousness.

I mentally sigh, I don't get what's so great about mates. I'm perfectly fine on my own.

Derek's P.O.V
I sigh in frustration as I sit in my office. I've recently become Alpha and I'm spending my days signing treaties and setting up patrol roles for my warriors, having nothing but more work to look forward too. Personally I'd rather be able to head back to my mate...if I had one.

Tap!

Tap!

Tap!

"Come in." I say.

"There's my favorite Alpha." My Beta, Damian, says.

"What do you want?" I answer gruffly. I guess some people would call it rude.

You see, I keep to myself, everyone knows not to get on my bad side. I don't exactly have a 'best friend', but I know I chose the most loyal person to our pack as Beta. Not to mention he's pretty strong and quick to think out of complicated situations. Therefore if he's saying things like 'there's my favorite Alpha', there's something up.

"Well, some stupid pups were playing around in the woods and one of them is stuck underneath a log." He says scratching the back of his neck, most likely nervous I'd lash out on him.

I growl and try to ease up my now furrowed brows. Another frustrated sigh leaves my lips. "Why can't you or a warrior get them?" I ask with an intense glare that I'm sure is making Damian uncomfortable.
